I am looking for character/temperament changes within a breed as breeders have concentrated on what the dog looks like rather than their temperament. Have any breeds become less stable, more aggressive, or dominant, nervous, or anxious? Any examples of generalised character changes would be helpful.

I would like to get one and was wondering about their personalities. They have been bred down generations with wild cats, right? So, are they completeley domesticated now and friendly? And what were they bred with to get those cool markings? Should the kitten have the markings it'll have as an adult or can it change? And what is the average price for a non show quality (but still one with nice markings) Bengal and are cat breeders usually helpful? I know a lot about the dog breeding world but nothing about cat breeding. I already have 3 domestic shorthairs that are quite old (13,14, and 17) so I may just wait till they are gone so I don't upset them or would they be accepting? They are all fixed of course, two males and one female.

They need to be cleaned often and the pet shop bedding works out expensive. Considering shredded newspaper, leaves or sawdust from the timber yard. I would like to compost the used bedding for the garden as well. Any ideas anyone?

My male greyhound really smells bad! I also have a female but she smells fine. He has a really strong musky smell, a "male" smell, sometimes it's so strong we can't go near him! I do keep him clean and he's been neutered. Does anybody have any suggestions? Is there anything I could feed him or put in his food to make him less offensive? Thanks.

He's not like other dogs, you cant get his attention just by being the dominant one. He's so intelligent, he's more like a child. If I tell him off he sulks! I'm used to other dogs fawning and doing their best to do as they're told, my Rotty is just too independant! I need help with how to get through to him to begin teaching him to do basic things like come when called, walk on the lead without pulling like a train and not jump up all the time. He's a 2 year old rescue dog, we had him off friends who rescued him and had him as a guard dog for a year. He's lovely and very loving but completely oblivious to why he should do what I ask him to. Any advice please? There are no dog training classes that can help in my area, they're for agility and obedience dogs that want to compete.

think Border collie and australian shepherd sized, no my dogs arent' dead, nor are they near it, but I was just thinking how I would be able to manage their remains, since they are fairly large sompared to my other animals., it would be like burying a human. For most of our dogs (chihuahua and dachshund mixes, etc.) their last stops will be a burial on the hill by our house, where other pets are already, mostly hamsters and parakeets, but also a pair of rabbits and my grand pa's poor dog, spike, who was a cairn terrier mix, but it would take all day to bury one of my other two dogs, so, on average, how much would it cost to cremate and buy a simple jug.jar.urn.box.whatever.

we've kept our LBS nest, next to our door so, sometimes in the night around 12pm, 1pm like that they make a very panic noise, they all fly and fall in their house, we couldn't sleep, then we have to get up and put all lights and weight for sometime then we can go to our bed. it is so disturbense, otherwise they are ok, why is it happening like this?

I have a 30 year old parrot that I’m thinking about taking to the United Kingdom (he'd be coming from the USA). I understand there is a 30 day quarantine period, but he’s an older bird I’m not sure he could take being isolated from me for that long. Is there any way to have him quarantined in my home instead of an outside facility?

I have called the dog catcher several times. They say they have to catch them out of their yard before they can do anything. Yes there is a leash law here. They have been talked to by neighbors and the humane society. Obviously, they dont care. They get into our trash regularly, plus, I know they dont get any shots, and care. I am at my wits end.

My vet's office is closed at this hour and I need to know if this significant enough to call the emergency vet line. My chihuahua was vaccinated today with booster shots plus Bordatella and Rabies shots. She was fine until about 6 or 7, when all the sudden her energy levels dropped off significantly. I left her with my family at 8 to run some errands and put her in her bed before I left, and now, 3 hours later, she hasn't moved an inch from where I put her. My father had to bring water and some food (which she wouldn't eat very willingly) OVER to her. She's a very active and playful pup usually and acted nothing near this bad last time she had her shots. Is it just the rabies shot taking its toll, or should I be concerned? Is this normal lethargy that should be expected after these shots or is it significant enough to call and get her in as soon as I can?

I just want to know if seventeen years old can adopt a dog. I have my Pomeranian I am looking for a good home and this girl came to see the dog I was very impressed by her. She looks so matured for her age. She has the same part time job since she was 15 and she goes to college full time. The only thing she will turn 18 in Feb. She real want my dog for her parents for Christmas as a surprise....I want to call her parent buy I don’t want to ruin her anything. She told me her parents have been looking for a small dog for a while and now she wants to give them for Christmas. What to do? Should I let her sign somewhere that I will call her parents a day after Christmas to verify this if not I will take my dog back but I wonder if a 17 yrs signature is valid any where. I know for sure my dog will be in a good hand but is there any law on this? She has saved her money and she is willing to pay the adoption fee that I didn't have in mind...I was just looking for a good home for my dog.

Doing my research, I believe Great Life Dog/Cat food is top on the list. They use a freeze dry process, use organic ingrediants, add probiotics and emzymes, and have grain free formulas. For your basic, good quality dog/cat food Canidae/Felindae is the smart choice. For organic, Newman's Organic is a worthy one, and for raw food diet, Nature's Variety is winner. Others to consider are Timberwolf and Blue Buffulo. Do you agree? Give your comments Check out the websites.

Against all odds, my cats don't like fish... Amongst all their hundreds (well it feels like there's that many) toys, they refuse to play with them and seem to find hour of enjoyment running up and down stairs. Also if i leave my sock or underwear drawer open, i come home to find they've carried them all the way downstairs and arranged them in a nice little pile for me.. weird or what?!

strange little kitties but i sure love em...

what quirks do your kitty masters have..?

The funniest things I've ever seen my dogs lugging around was my wolf Raven dragging around a full kiddie pool. I guess he didn't like where I put it. Also, my American bulldog thinks 6ft fence planks are sticks.
So what funny things have you seen your dogs lug around?
