oscars have to be around a year old beford they are ready to breed.. to get an oscar in breeding condition you subject it to a very high-prtotein diet to encourage the female to develop eggs. when the female is filling up with eggs then the breeding tube starts to distend. hope you get the idea.

if u really know that u have a pair of Oscar then that's great......Oscars usually get mature at abt 4" in size and they can breed after that........when the female is ready to lay eggs it moves the gravel and usually lay eggs on a flat surface (like a slab of stone)...when its ready to lay eggs then a tube like structure comes out from underneath the body, if u can see that then its surely a good news ....

can u show any of ur oscars pictures.....im a great oscar fan and really wanna breed them but i couldnt find a pair...my oscar is about 6" in size....

They move the gravel around and the female lays eggs. They are not live bearers.

They are egg-layers,they don't get pregnant, the eggs are externally fertilized.
