My male greyhound really smells bad! I also have a female but she smells fine. He has a really strong musky smell, a "male" smell, sometimes it's so strong we can't go near him! I do keep him clean and he's been neutered. Does anybody have any suggestions? Is there anything I could feed him or put in his food to make him less offensive? Thanks.

I would suggest a couple of things.

1 - Get his teath cleaned {By the vet, not using the dental chews - the chews do not remove any smell from there}

2 - Bathe him with either Bob Martin Puppy Shampoo or Johnsons Baby Shampoo - this removes the normal 'doggy' smell and leaves them either smelling of strawberry (with the puppy shampoo) or another fragrance. Or use a conditioner with a nice smell.

3 - Check the contents of his food. Wheat and grains can cause a dog to smell awful and it can cause nutritional problems so i would suggest a food such as Burns or James Wellbeloved.

Hope This Helps!

I think that it comes a lot from the food you give him... do you feed him dry food or not? Dry food make dogs smells less.. some bones or dog biscuits stinks as well... and the dog stink from it... finally, you might give him bath (maybe once a week). It might come as well from hormones... does he still have his balls? Maybe you should consider an operation and ask your vet. Good luck!

i've used in between bathing scented doggie bath/body sprays, and scented wipes. they can be used more frequently than bathing, and come in several nice scents, not overpowering at all... just a clean smell. i've bought these at target and petsmart.

Change his diet to a more natural one, it might not effect her but it might him and they will be both healthier. Research RAW food diet.

After he has his bath, give him a shot of Sambuka or Pernod. Don't forget to wash his testicles in Tomato Juice.
