I have had 2 bala sharks for about two weeks now and they have seemed very happy. I just added 2 silver dollars this Sunday, and ever since then one of my balas have been acting weird. One of the bala sharks keeps putting his nose up against the glass and swimming up and down. (Like he is trying to escape) Is this happeneing because new fish are in his area? The weird thing is though, the two groups of fish barely even notice each other in the tank. I just do not know why one of the balas are freaking out and the other is not? And why is he doing that? Please help.

All of my goldfishes have black on their fins and tails and then one of them has it on its fore head and around it's mouth and the other 2 have it around their mouth. I was wondering what this is? And how to treat it?

Right now I have 3 gouramis and a pleco in my tank. My powder blue (George) and my silver one with spots (Jimmy) get along fine but Jimmy endlessly chases my sunset thicklip (Peaches). He lets her eat but after that, he chases her behind the filter and she doesn't come out until the next feeding. Obviously she's really stressed.

Peaches used to be bright yellow-orange but now her eyes are really dark and her head is too and her color is dark and around her tail fin is grey speckles. She's acting normal (until she gets chased) and everyone else is fine. She's been darker for a while now and I just noticed the grey stuff today. I read that she might have a bacterial thingy, but those are supposed to spread, right? Everybody else is fine, though.

I hate my friend's cat. It'll hop up into your lap, rub it's face all over you, purr and basically act like it wants to be petted.

Then, out of nowhere, it'll suddenly turn, bite your hand and run away. WTF.

I actually wanted a cat until I babysat hers. Do all cats do this?

Just wondering. Like say a dog has only eaten dog food their whole lives and say someone is a hunter. What if the hunter catches, say a deer, and he cuts off a chunk of meat and gives it to the dog right there and then. What would happen to the dog if he liked the smell and ate it. I mean it is what his ancestors ate, so why couldn't a dog eat raw, fresh meat? Details...

I'd like to hear if someone has had the same happening to their dog, or a professional's opinion.

My dog is 15.5 yrs old, she's a maltese (not pure breed but mixed with god-knows-what) and always had a very unhealthy life, meaning that she was overweight because my mom always fed her with stuff she shouldn't have. Well, she was a healthy dog till about a year ago when we found out she had a little tumor on her tit (got it removed) and a heart condition. She's been on meds ever since, with a special diet for her condition and recovered from 2 surgeries; she seems to be doing fine most of the time (still eats fine, behaves as she used to but of course her sight and ear aren't that good anymore) but she faints almost everyday. The slightest emotion (seeing my mom coming back from the street, taking a short run from the room to the door to go pee) makes her faint, but after a half minute she's back on like nothing happened. their about an inch and half long and totally refuse to eat. i drop a few pellets in and they act like its not even right in front of their face. i leave them by my window every day so they get tons of sun, clean their water about every 2 or 3 days and they still wont eat. ive tried feeding them carrots and lettuce too. whats up?

i've noticed the past few days that my cat's been incredibly lazy. she just kinda lays around my room all day and when im at my computer wants to sit on my lap (not to be patted, just to sit there. body heat maybe?) i have to carry her downstairs just so she'll eat.
i dont really know all that much about cats, but in my opinion she's pretty old. i want to say about 11 or 12 years. so what do you think?

I have a 5 yr old Boxer who has skin problems (hot spots, bumps, rashes, etc) I currently feed him Calf. Natural dry food and was thinking of switching to a raw food diet. I know it's more money, but will it help with his skin probs? I have been to a pet allergist already and they seem to think it's an allergy to chicken, but who knows. Could not give a def. answer for $450! Thanks

Madeline is about 10 months old and she is a spayed indoor cat. We recently moved her up from the kitten-sized litter box to the normal, larger litter box because it seemed like it was time - her litter box was filling rather quickly and causing our tiny apartment to smell. However, even with the bigger box, it seems like she's defecating quite a lot.

It isn't runny or soft or an odd color, and she's not doing it in any strange places. She doesn't seem to be in any kind of pain, and she doesn't act like she's sick. She's been her completely normal, happy, loving self lately - except for the increased defecation. It seems like she's going often enough for me to fill 3/4 of a small plastic sandwich bag every day. Is this normal and I'm just being paranoid, or is this something I need to contact the vet about?

Is about to be put to sleep tomorrow... i am going with my mom, grandmom. and my dad. But the thing is , i think i may regret it.. it was my choice.. to choose if we should put her to sleep. My question is If your dog had authritis, a cancerous tumor,,, that is cancer now., obviously not enjoying getting up from naps.. colapsing during walks... even when they are short walks... ok.. would you put the dog asleep?

im a dog lover i do like cats too dont get me wrong but my finace is a cat lover he has 4 and they r out doors cats at day n he made them there own room for night and winter!! lol and im 22 and just moved in with him a year ago but befor had a place i couldnt have dogs and im trying to talk him into gettin a puppy but he wont go for it....should i just get one and hope it grows on him? even if it didnt he would deal till i found it a good home but dont wanna put a pup threw that im just so annoyed i love dogs n want a puppy so bad my dog of 10 years (shep mix) died 3 years ago he got very ill n im ready for another dog.
