I just love cats... they are so cute and cuddly, and soft and they purr....
but really - cows are cute too. They moo and they walk slow and they have such cute noses and big batting eyes! And I can get milk from a cow. Can I keep a cow in my living room?

I've got lots of experience with cows but I have to admit there is a radical difference between the two. The cats would love the milk, but the cow would be more useful. If you have the property & the money then get the cow but forget the living room.
This is what you need...

Congratulations!! Bringing home a kitty is so much fun! I have four cats myself, and it's never to early to spoil them with toys and a scratching post and anything else you want to buy them. As far as litter training, it's usually extremely easy. Just set up a box with low enough sides for him to enter easily, fill it half way with litter and when he arrives show him where it is. Set him inside of it and scratch his paw around gently if you like, it's really an innate ability in cats to go in their box. That's all you need to do! Other than that, give him lots of love and attention. One toy that my cats loved when little was the long plastic stick with feathers at the end. You should wait a bit to have him neutered, but not so long that he starts spraying, before the six month mark is good. Take him for a vet check up and get him on file there, it's also a good idea to get him microchipped if he's not already, just in case he should get outside and lost. There is no need to keep him locked up when you're away, he won't have accidents like a dog. Get him a scratching post tree, it's really funny to watch them scale it like maniacs when they're kittens! Have fun!

Personally I prefer cats but I guess there is also an advantage to having a pet which can give you something to drink! If your living room is large enough to keep a cow in i guess it would be okay. Maybe you could keep her in the kitchen so when you milk her the milk can go straight in the fridge!

uh, i'm not sure about the cow in the living room idea. I dont know much about cows, but i don't think they would do to well indoors.

I own a cat and i love mine. They are very independent, and they are like another person in the house.

I think cats are cuter

COW! Free milk FTW!
Just might wanna keep a large wheelbarrow and a shovel set aside for the cowpies.

I do love cats myself...I have two...
Thumper & Bubha...I do love them dearly, but they keep bringing me presents, and leaving them right infront of the back door...
(dead mice)
and a cow, well they aren't exactly cute...and they can't be potty tranied...BUT they do give you milk, so that is a plus...
AHHH
I'll stay with the cats & dead mice...lol
