No. Over-the-counter products are less effective and more toxic than flea products from the vet.

I recommend Frontline Plus. If you get a 12 or 6 month supply from a place like 1-800 Pet Meds you can get some real savings.
Do some online searches about Hartz.... I have read a lot about dogs having very adverse reactions to Hartz Flea and Tick products.

There is a reason Frontline is more expensive than Hartz.......Frontline works. The grocery store variety of flea and tick remedies just are not very good or effective. Why waste your money to only have to buy more or end up buying the more expensive product later anyway?

Frontline is not that much more expensive and if you use that cheap crap you can pick up at Walmart your pet could suffer a major reaction costing you a LOT more then a few bucks. The over the counter stuff should never be used. many pets have died from that stuff and there have been class action lawsuits.
That said, you might want to look at this article about ALL spot ons. None are 100% safe and there are many things people do not know about them. Personally I do not use ANY of it on my dogs.

No. The Hartz stuff is junk. It's an absolute waste of money and time.
Use Frontline, K9 Advantix, or Sentinel. Yes, they're more expensive, but they actually work. Search the internet for better prices.

Oh most definatley not, there are cases where Hartz has killed animals. I would not use those products at all, and flea collars can be highly toxic to dogs if ingested. Go to your vet an use one of their flea/tick products, not WalMart brand, ew.

No, it is a VERY dangerous brand as are most OTC flea products. These prodicts cause skin irritations & burns, neurological issues, seizures and even death.
Frontline may be expensive but it is safe and effective.
I've seen way to many pets at the hospital that have been seriously harmed or killed by these OTC flea products..had one just today.

NO!! Please don't use it. I know Frontline is expensive but it is also SAFE. Hartz can cause seizures in animals especially when overdosed but even when the correct dose is applied. I've seen it first hand.
