Turtles willnot eat if the water temperature drops below about 16 deg celcius! or 60 deg F
If they are young turtles they will die if they go into hibernation before they have had time to build up their body mass.
Buy a water heater from a pet shop and keep the temp at appros 22 deg celcius 72 deg F for the first year of their life, they will eat and grow strong.

I suspect there is a problem with your basic cares or diet.
Try http://www.redearslider.com and see how your cares line up with their suggestions, and change what is needed.
Some common issues would include tank size, water temps, water quality, etc.
For example- a tank in the sun can easily either get too hot or not really heat up at all- the part of light that turtles need- UVB- does not penetate glass.

Be sure that they have a basking spot as well as the right lighting. Sun is not enough!
Google the correct bulbs, you will have to spend a lot of money to get the right ones. One buld is called a blue daylight bulb, the other is flourescant. Again, sun is just not enough.
Small RES need light the most for shell development.

if they are new, they could just be getting used to their environment. also, sun through a window doesnt do them much good. they need proper lighting and a basking area for them to sit out and get dry on. as babies, they are mainly carniverous, so they probably wont want the veggies til they get somewhat older. also make sure the water temp is warm enough, as they are cold blooded and need their temp regulated. (you can get a submersible heater for this) if you have the regular sized pellets, (rather than the baby ones) you can try breaking them up first, and hand feeding them, too. that way you can hold it out for them and maybe tickle their face with it to encourage them to take it.

good luck with your turts!

It sounds like your'e doin' all the Right things! I'll bet they are eating, just not when your lookin'. I have two turtles and when I first got them, I thought they weren't eating either. They's see me coming and down under the water behind a rock they'd go! But after awhile, they realized that food was love and started waiting for me. Mine get pellets, lettuce(especially romaine), carrots, grape leaves (love em!), cucumber, zuchini, fish flakes, bits of apple... I have a gold fish tank too and when one dies, I feed it to them. Gross, but they eat it. They also love crickets.

My turtles won't eat either. But you have to keep the food there for a LONG time. Then when you come back to check on them, the food is halfway done! I;m sure nothing is wrong with them.
