im a dog lover i do like cats too dont get me wrong but my finace is a cat lover he has 4 and they r out doors cats at day n he made them there own room for night and winter!! lol and im 22 and just moved in with him a year ago but befor had a place i couldnt have dogs and im trying to talk him into gettin a puppy but he wont go for it....should i just get one and hope it grows on him? even if it didnt he would deal till i found it a good home but dont wanna put a pup threw that im just so annoyed i love dogs n want a puppy so bad my dog of 10 years (shep mix) died 3 years ago he got very ill n im ready for another dog.

i would get one and hope it grows on him, but first just take him to the kennel and see if he like on. my sister hated dogs and was a cat lover, but one day we went to the park and played with a golden named Dora, and after that she wanted a dog too! good luck!

Nope I think that is just ridiculous, how do you judge someone by what animal they love? I have 3 dogs AND 3 cats! I am a cat and dog lover. I absolutely LOVE cats, I think cats are the greatest things - don't knock it till you try it! I don't really get this at all - because some person is a cat lover there more standoffish & not as open? and if a person is a dog lover there friendly? Then what if someone has a love for elephants? Whats there mood like? I think its a stupid judgment and you do not base people on what they like and don't like. To the poster above me- "Dog people friendly outgoing Cat people rude.." That made me burst out in laughter!! So if a person is a cat lover there rude and if a person is a dog lover there friendly and outgoing!! LMAO! There are a lot of cereal killers and murderers that are dog lovers? So does that make them friendly and outgoing? I am a cat and dog lover so what am I? rude and friendly? WOW that is SO funny!

Don't get a puppy. A dog is a pretty major addition to a family, which means everyone really needs to be on-board in the decision.

i have no idea how to do that but i did turn a dog lover into a cat lover... My Approach was to show the dog lover all the qualities of the cat... (ie, doesnt need alot of attention, uses a litter box, so mess on the carpet) you should try that!!! it really works

Oh I wouldn't do that.. If he is against dogs, and he adores those cats like he seems to.. If the puppy touches a hair on their heads, he is going to freak and it'll be game over!
