I heard rumors that say dog food can kill you and others they are healthier than human food.Are they true?

Every kid I know has eaten dog food at one time or another.
Nothing will happen to you. At worst, you may have an upset stomach and that's highly unlikely.

Let's take a look at recent mass recalls. Still think its healthier?
Some dog foods contain ingredients banned for use in human food, propylen glycol, and exthoxyquin to name a couple.
Many dog foods contain meat not fit for human consumption, if you can call what some companies use meat.
Many dog foods have been found to have traces of pentobarbital in them. This is a euthanizing agent and does not break down with the cooking process. Some believe that repeated exposure over time can cause illness.
I wouldn't feed most "dog" foods to a dog, let alone a human.

As humans are omnivores (as opposed to dogs) commercial crap in a bag is more suited to them anyway. Probably the same stuff in a hotdog anyway!!
People seem to choose pet food that is aimed at human nutritional guidlines (fruit, vegetables grains etc) rather than the food a dog's body is designed to eat.

Wouldn't hurt you, wouldn't taste very good either I suspect.
Unless you live on McDonald's and Moon Pies, I doubt dog food is healthier than decent human food.

Dog food can't kill you, and it could be heatlhier than some of the fast food or packaged human food out there. You can eat it, however, you may not like it.

My brother used to eat dry dog food as a child. He would hide it under his pillow so that he could eat it when no one was looking.
Sometimes I ask him to taste things before I give it to my dog.

i used to eat dog food as a kid and my mom took me to the doctor to see if it was harmful she said nothing can go wrong its just like eating normal food (only it tastes worse)

A lot of the elderly live on dog and cat food. They can't afford anything else. If they can live on it, it has to be edible, for humans.
