Cats are known to be independent, classy, a bit stuck up and intelligent. Originally cats were known to be a lil girl's companion, but now days many single men keep cats in their homes or apartments. Men tend to like the cat's independent steak, and their less "neediness" of human affections. There is nothing wrong with a man having a cat or two.
There is something wrong with anyone owning more animals than they can take care of and be responsible for... at least you're saving an animal's life- what is it the people who make fun of you did to help an animals life?

There are lots of men who love cats, but for some reason cats have gotten the wrap as "chick pets" , my husband to this day will not admit to any of his buddies that he loves our cats (even though he spoils them shamelessly and talks nothing but baby talk to them) . I think it is awesome that you love cats and aren't afraid to say so, just imagine those who tease you the most probably have a spoiled kitty at home = ). Those who truly don't like cats have probably never had one and what does it matter if they tease you , you benefit from your friendship with you kitty , just let the teasing roll off your back and realize they are either uninformed or unenlightened = ) !

Because people think that if guys like cats that means there gay. I love Cats too. But I'm a girl so I don't get made fun of.

Most people think of cats as a girl's pet and dogs as a guy's. My ex-boyfriend thought the same thing until we met and he met my cat. Then he had to have a cat of his own and we ended up with 2 - his and hers. I spoke with him 2 yrs after our breakup and he was telling me all about his own cats. If they fit your personality and you love them then by all means get them. If people are making fun of you then they are not pet lovers or have closed minds. My step-father loved his 2 girls until the day he died. Enjoy the love.

They probably think in stereotypes--guys have dogs and ladies have cats.
Bleh! Guys with cats are GREAT! We don't see enough of them. Ignore the comments and just ask the next person why they want to keep up an old stereotype in this modern world.

I have known just as many guys who like cats as I have that like dogs. And I prefer the ones who like cats. They seem to be people who are not afraid to be themselves, and can express feelings more easily. Women like that. Good for you! (Yeah cats!)
