my oscar will only occupy the right side of my 55g tank. he is alone with a pleco. he only stays on the side next to my bed. i hardly ever see him on the other side. and the odd part is all the live plants and rocks are on the left side where he can hide. does any one else have this problem?

I'm a single guy in my mid-twenties thinking about getting a guinea pig (I live in an apartment so I can't really have a dog or something). But I'm affraid people would look at me wierd because a guinea pig is kind of a kid thing and not something an adult has. So my question is to the women here...would you date a guy who had a guinea pig or would you be put off by that?

I have 3 betas, two of them expand their fins and eat. the other one keeps his fins down and doesn't eat much. what's wrong with it?

Alright well my female fish started to drop eggs and she started eating them and put them in bubbles so i put the male betta in and hes eating the nesta nd the eggs! I dont get this at ALL HELPP!

i have had a danio a and some sort of tetra die from what i think is some sort of gill disease. after their death and maybe before and i just didnt notice but their gills are red and a little before their anus on their belly they have an opening that looks almost like something had eatten through it and around that it was red too. i was wondering if maybe they could have some parasite too??? i have been doing water changes every week to lower my nitrates which have been high and the pH is 7.0. i have a heater and an air stone and no other problems that i know of. if you have any other questions you can email me at eat-sleep-ride@comcast.net.

My dog has 3 week old puppies. The vet said they don't need to come back to the vet until they are 6 weeks old for shots, but he didn't say anything about their de-worming. Do you recommend the vet doing that or just buying the medication and doing it myself? If so, when do I need to start that?

My two year old kitty has hairball issues, i have tried hairball treats and hairball foods but nothing has helped. At least once a week i find a hairball either on the carpet or in the bathroom and even in the bathtub. I feel really bad for him when i hear him yacking at 2 oclock in the morning. Is their anything i can do to help him?

My dog was spayed on Friday. She doesn't act like it hurts her much but she is acting really weird. She won't eat or drink unless we bring it to her. When she has to walk she jumps around all over the place like she don't want to use her back legs. Then she stops as soon as she can to try and scratch. She hasn't been whinning. Just acting a little strange. Is this a normal reaction?

i have a guinea pig and she is 3years old. my friend has got a male guinea pig and wants to breed it wtih my nibbles. (nibbles is the sow) i am all for this idea and was looking forward to seeing her young. but then i read on the internet that you shouldnt breed them if they are over 2. the site was against breeding them though. is this true? i really need to know thanx

When I was very young I was nipped by a dog on my ankle and it has left me scared of dogs. How can I get over my fear? My family makes fun of me because I am terrified of dogs and used to lock myself in my room and they would bring their nearly 200lb. dog to my parents house. How can I make them stop mocking me?

Pups bellies have swollen up and 1 of them seem to be having respiratory problems, gasping for air and loss of apetite, 2 of the pups are runts and it almost looks like their inside are moving around, weird i know but i need some advice so if anyone has some knowledge about hamsters or their illnesses, please help. thanx

The right side of my puppy's nose is swollen. He was playing with another dog right before it happened but nobody really seen what actually caused the swelling. The two pups were outside when it happened so it's hard for me to determine whether it was an injury or an insect sting. The area is very tender, as he will cry out when I try to take a look at his teeth. He visits the vet religiously, but it's Sunday, should I call after hours or wait until the morning? What, if anything, can I do for him tonight? Thanks in advance :)

coming into heat.I have 2 female cats age 7 - 8 months.They've changed the past couple of days.The meow alot, and run around alot,there also quite cudlly too.

My Guinea
Pig died unexpectedly. And my cats are suffering from pink eye. can my cats have a parasite that could affect me or my other animals? Can the pink eye my cats have be from a parasite? In anyway possible, could the cats possible parasite afect me?

ok, i have a 1yo male (neutered) cat. he REFUSES to go in the litter box. we have a bunch of other cats, and 2 litter boxes which are very clean. thered be no way for me to keep the other cats out of one of the litter boxes. he used the litter box for a little while...
he usually goes to the bathroom in the same place, but lately hes just been going wherever. he started out as an indoor cat then we had to let him outside because he wasnt using the box so much. now my mom is saying that if he keeps this up hes going to have to go to a shelter. he went for a checkup fairly recently, so i dont think its a uti, but could it be?
HOW DO I GET HIM TO START USING THE LITTER BOX?!

they aren't moving much and are having trouble swimming
and literally look as if they are dying..we've had them for about 3 years or something..
Right now they are in a vertical position and are still breathing but look really ill... My mom just changed the water and everything.. The water before was green and looked as if it was full of ammonia and algae ..
Help please? what should we do?
