I've adopted a kitten who was apparently attacked by a larger cat or other animal. It has about an inch and a half of fur missing from the tip of its tail. Will the fur grow back?

Norma P: We should never joke about something so serious as hair on cat's tails. Besides, once you start using Rogaine, if you stop, the new hair all falls out.

My own cat had a tail injury when we were away for 3 days. Our neighbour was feeding it and so he didn't notice the injury. The vet saved the tail after a lot of visits. The fur grew back and now I can't find where the injury was.

The fur will grow back, but in about 1 to 2 months. Sort of thing happened when I had my cat spayed, had to shave her stomach
However, if the injury is damaging to the extent that it ruined the hair folicals, which is a possibility in this situation, then no, it won't

Aspirin is poisonous to cats, so please don't give him that. You might be able to borrow a "humane" trap from the animal shelter so your cat could be treated, but the fact that he is partially wild and there is no safe way of catching him means he would have to be sedated. Not a good situation.

It should grow back, no problem. Since you adopted him ,chances are he's seen a vet, right? Give it some time. Up to a month or so you'll see improvement. Good luck with your new baby!

The fur should grow back, if the cut or wound isn't that deep. It might leave a scar but it should grow back.

In most cases the hair will grow back. Unless the skin is extensively scarred, there should be no reason he or she shouldn't grow the hair back.
