Geosmurfz is right, pregnancy after 1 year of age will cause problems for the female (not necessarily death), but the reason is because their pelvic/hip bones begin to close - which makes the birth canal smaller. But apparently your veterinarian can give the female a drug that will prevent this problem (when she is in labor?) - not entirely sure seeing as how I've never experienced it with one of my guinea pigs. I would hold off on breeding with your female because she's older than 1 year.

Has she had babies before? If not then definitely DO NOT breed her. She will most likely die because her pelvic bones have fused.
If she has had a litter before I still wouldn't advise breeding her because she is getting old. By 3, breeders usually retire sows from breeding.
Breeding guinea pigs is VERY risky. I had 6 litters and I was very, very lucky not to lose any! In a lot of cases the mother will die or the babies will be born dead.
If you love your guinea pig you wouldn't breed her!
Good luck with her!

Guinea pigs that are not breed at a young age. There pelvic bones may fuse making it impossible to give birth. If she has not bred in 3 years it may be best not to breed her. Or you can try and hope for the best.

It is 3 for females or younger if they have never been bred before. There is something with the hips fusing or something like that. I can't quite remember and can not find our book on Guinea Pigs right now.

guinea pigs over 10months and not bred before should not bred at all
i would say do not breed her, because if she has complacations in birth you'll have to take her to a vet and she may not survive and the babies may not either

The age limit is 3 years old. Plus if she is over 1 year old and never had breeded before it will kill her. So I would say please for your guinea's sake don't breed her.

about 8 months old you can start running into problems with breeding them because their pelvic bones begin to fuse.
