An adult animal will cost more than a baby. Someone has put years of time, food, and effort into raising that adult, why would they sell it for less?

I would say an average adult common RTB would average around $250-$300.

An adult boa constrictor would cost more than a baby. Most baby boas go for between $100 - $200 depending on the sex. But I've seen adult boas sell for $500 or more depending on whether it is a female and if it is a morph. Sometimes you can find adult boas for sale in newspapers, and occassionally you might find one at the SPCA or your local animal shelter, but that's rare. Try checking your local reptile rescue or reptile club.
What do you want an adult snake for? Why not get a young snake and watch it grow up? Are you looking to get into breeding?

The answer to your question is yes. Now I need to say that I am one to create environments for my animals so I like them to have as much space as possible. That said, the ideal condition for your snake would be if you have a spare room in your home that you can set up for her. if thats not possible then a custom cage would be nice, but again it's going to be quite large and expensive. A friend of mine has a 12' F columbian in what amounts to about a 160 gallon tank. It's a home made enclosure made of wood with a plexiglass front. The front splits into a sliding door. He keeps a 5 gallon bucket in the tank for water, and of course the snake. Can't say how happy she is, but she's been in there most of her life and is healthy. So there yo have both ends. You need to decide.

With reptiles, animals that are at breeding size are in demand and usually cost more. This is in contrast to cats and dogs where people frequently want babies and the adults are often de-valued. Large snakes can live for several decades.
