I was watching my sister's dog this weekend and I noticed that when the dog licked me it felt thick or sticky and made me want to wipe it off.

But when my dog licks me it just feels wet and dries quickly on it's own.

Has anyone else noticed this, or is it just psychological?

My cat is having kittens and we live in the country. There are about a million places she can go and I can't find her. Will she come home to eat if she gets hungry or will she have to stay with her kittens all the time? She's not declawed but I'm still worried she won't leave them to hunt. What should I do?

I always thought it was the best thing for your ***** to have a season, then have her spayed. Now i read on the board that health wise it's best done early, how early, and is it safe for the puppy?I have a dog at home,so spaying her would make it so much less stressful, of dealing with the dog as well.
Would appreciate knowledgeable answers.

No running, no excess movement. Just real fast breathing and no other symptom.

In my family, there is a 12 year old, a 15 year old, and obviously 2 adults. We are owned by a guinea pig and 2 birds. The 12 and 15 year old go to school and have afterschool activities. We want a small breed. Also, we live in a hotter area, in a single home. Any ideas?

I have a cat named Rusty and he has been tested for feline leukemia and he`s` clean and I have him spayed now.So far I have spend about 500.00 dollars on him because twice when he was outside(he is a very mild mannered cat)other cats tend to pick on him on every time he gets bitten he gets an abscess and has to have surgery to have it drained.Has anyone else had this problem and how do I handle it?It`s` getting way to expensive!

i just bought my new betta fish and the lady at the pet store told me to feed him three Betta Bite pellets twice a day. I put him in the tank and gave him three to eat. Within 1 minute he had eaten all three. I gave him one more that he ate quickly. Should I give him more or just let him be?

1-the babies are 3-days old.. when is it possible for me to hold them without fear of my scent on them triggering the mum to eat them?
2-when can i start letting mum back in to her ball to run around in the evenings?
she was tired the 1st 2 days but now seems eager to run around and get out. shes always been EXTRA energetic. (thats polite for hyper crazy thing!)
3-the mum and dad(in diff cage) both refuse to drink water by any way.. but eat lettuce and tomatoes and food like that.. is that ok?
4-both parents enjoy the ball but dont use the wheel at all.. how can i train the babies (as they get older) to use the wheel instead of having to get the ball out all the time?

I have a mutt (American PitBull), and she just had eight puppies. The past few days the puppies have been feeding off their mom, but as of late (one day) the mom dog has not been feeding them. She keeps running away and doesnt stay in one spot. The newborn pups are a week old so im afraid they wont survive. At what age can you start feeding a newborn food (or formula milk), and water? Any information on the care of newborn puppies would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

After searching a while for a good breeder, we finally adopted a 6 week old female yellow lab. We already love her to death! Anyways, our question is about her eyes. They're black now, but does that mean they'll be black as an adult? Or is black eyes the default eye color for young puppies, like blue is the default eye color for newborns?

They are extremely small, smaller than a flea. they look like a small fluffly white ball with a tail. They seem to "scooch" in water. Are they good or bad, harmless? How do I kill them. I only found two so far. I heard salt and hi-temp kill most microliveforms

We just adopted a (we think) 6-8 week old kitten from a friend who had a stray mother cat with a litter - we adopted one, who is sweet and friendly, has eaten fairly well since we got him (yesterday) however I'm concerned that he hasn't used the litter pan yet, I've put him in it and tried to help him with digging the litter, etc. but I haven't see any pee/poop yet - it's been almost 24 hours and I'm worried about it now.

I've read that you sometimes have to stimulate the mother cleaning them in order to have them go, but wondering if a kitten at 6-8 weeks old doesn't already do it on their own.

Thanks!
