Why are some dog licks sticky?

I was watching my sister's dog this weekend and I noticed that when the dog licked me it felt thick or sticky and made me want to wipe it off.

But when my dog licks me it just feels wet and dries quickly on it's own.

Has anyone else noticed this, or is it just psychological?

sometimes when dogs get spit from under their tounge its thicker than from his tounge up.i know its gross .my dog swiches in and out sometimes

The dog was probably druling just before over some food.

He's probably been licking his own sticky bits !!!!
Never let a dog lick you,,thats gross.
