I have a Labrador Retriever and it is suppost to be the like #1 dog in america, and I agree!!
They are sweet, love kids, and get along well
The only thing is they need some space to run around so you should have time to take them on walks.
Precious dogs
Hope I am of help to you! =D

An American Pit Bull Terrier or any Pit. The Pit Bull was known as the "Nanny Dog" in the past. They are great with kids. My Pit is the most lovable dog I have ever had. She is 4 years old and still a big puppy. She loves everyone. She is a bit bad mannered and jumps on everybody looking for attention. Well, except kids, she just wiggles around them, does not jump on them.
When my daughter brought my one month old grandson over for the first time she sat him on the floor in his carrier and the Pit went and sat by him the whole time he was there.
The more people we can get to recognize that the Pit Bulls are a great dog we can stop the banning of a great dog.
Remember the "Our Gang" comedies, "The Little Rascals", Petey was a Pit Bull. Buster Brown Shoes, "My dog Tige", yes another Pit Bull.

I've got Labradors and have had boxers in the past too. If you can't face having another golden retriever, labs are probably the closest in temperament - mine love everyone! They're also really intelligent and easy to train.

You could try another golden, a Labrador retriever (Americas most popular dog), or my personal fave, a Siberian husky. If you are looking for a smaller dog, a yorkie terrier would be good. Looking in between, a corgi would be a good choice.

Well, labs and German Shepards are nice fun loving dogs, that is is you are looking for another big dog. A nice medium sized dog would have to be a Shetland Sheep Dog, they are wonderful. A small toy dog that is easy to train would be something like a Miniature Dachshund, pomeranian, or a Toy American Eskimo . Australian Shepards are nice to, but they require alot of exersize.

Go to the shelter & you will find the best dog you can possibly imagine. Most shelter dogs seem ever so grateful, and much more polite then dogs you buy as pups. And you will save a life. If you wanted to, go to a shelter, ask the people their which dog has been here the longest that nobody wants and adopt him.
