It seemed to start like the day I found out I was expecting. I thought he was wonderful and fun, and then it was off like a light switch. Now, to be honest, I can't stand him. He's an annoying dog too. He barks all the time and there is nothing that stops it. He's been to obedience classes, has bark collars, everything. Anything we try is just a fix to get him to quit right then, but he still barks at everything. Now that I have a baby girl, I just would rather he was gone. On a scale of 1-10, how evil am I?

This phenomenon crosses all boundries- old spinsters, gay couples, young selfish women, lonely men. It's unreal. People treat their pets like children: clothes, hats, spas, daycare, totes and carriers, hotels, (no joke), language, motivation, summer camps! The dog has become a replacement for a child especially among young selfish types who don't want the sacrifices that a child demands. Yet, they talk about their pet, carry photos of their pet as if it were their spawn. Then you have all the celebrity bimbos with their freakish miniture dogs stuffed in thousand dollar handbags. This society has reached terrifying decadence. I'm not religious, I hate religion, but the culture of death is present in this trend. Is there a psychological explanation for this?

I am getting a yellow lab/german shepard mix. I bought his crate to fit his current size because I was told the helps to keep him from eliminating in the crate. Is increasing in size as the puppy grows correct or should I buy for his expected full size right away?

Thanks

I got a 5 week old kitten yesterday. She is weaned, but will not drink water. She also cries if she cannot see me. Is this normal?

Does anyone know of a home cure for this type of mange. The dip that the vets have to use are so dangerous. It can kill the dog or cause brain damage.

Of what value on earth are the skunks? You can't have them
as pets, they always stink yet no one can bathe them, and I
don't know of what good they actually are. If you know, please
put it in writing for me.

I have had alot of red meet this year- I remember going a yeear or two when my dog was a pup and only had a good steak three times a year. Now adays I am doing prreaty good money wise and eating alot of red meat ( more than ever) every steak I have I trim ALL the fat off (even a really marbled ribeye) and I feed it to my dog- is that a bad thing? Should I quit all together? or is it ok- just a couple times a year.? please let me know if i am hurting my dog.
also- pork bones? are they bad for dogs? i always said they are but my BF keeps givin them to her.

I actually kept seventeen land hermit crabs in two terrariums. I think it was cool that they were rather gentle and seemed to like attention and handling...a couple of them actually liked to walk up my arms and rest on my shirt. Land hermit crabs are a challenge to keep successfully, and many of mine died after a year or two of keeping them, even with the care I gave them.

He is also less playful and sleeps more. The veterinarian hasn't made a diagnosis yet. He is waiting for the conjunctivitis to clear. But I'm worried. Any idea would help!

OK, here's the deal; I have a 14lb. male and a 7lb. female. We recently moved, and our new vet is a block away, which is very convenient. We only have one car, and my husband works until 3...so since I'm home, I figured taking the cats to the vet myself would be easy. Just walk them down there in a carrier. However, Lotus had an appointment yesterday, and walking down there with over 7bs. hanging off my arm was a bit uncomfortable. So I'm definitely not going to try lugging Blaze down there in that fashion.

I always thought cat strollers were the most ridiculous thing, but I did tell my husband it would be convenient for walking your cat to the vet. So now I'm considering investing in one. Does anyone here have one or know someone who does? How has it worked out? If it were just for vet visits, I wouldn't be asking, but I figure if I'm going to pay a good amount for one, I might as well take the cats for walks on occasion. Any opinions are appreciated!

Just died. I only had him for 9 months, I usually keep him in my room and I noticed he made a high pitched noice I went in there and he stopped breathing, he was just laying up against the edge of the cage. I'm so sad. What could cause him to pass away only 9 months after I bought him?

EVERY DOG I GOT FROM SHELTER DIED OF PARVO. SO WHY SHOULD I GET A KITTY SINCE THEY WILL DIE OF SOMETHING SIMILAR TOO? AND THEY CHARGE $70 WHEN MY VET ONLY CHARGES $20. WHY ARENT THESE KITTIES WORTH SAVING TOO?

I WILL GET KITTY FROM VET CAUSE THEY ARE DISEASE FREE AND FLEA FREE.

ALL THE CATS AT SHELTERS ARE DISEASED AND FLEAD!!!!!!!!!

The real question being, what would help you make your decision toward adopting a lonely loving dog from a shelter - and would you ever consider being a foster parent to an animal? Just trying to see how our society feels overall.
