Are you talking about kneading? That's an undesirable behavior left over from kittenhood. It usually happens when kittens are removed from their mothers too soon and do not get properly weaned. When a kitten nurses, it kneads its mother's belly to stimulates lactation and milk flow. Adult cats who were not properly weaned will continue to do this to whatever surface they choose to rest on, whether it's a human lap, a bed or whatever. The behavior is sometimes accompanied by suckling, but this must be strongly discouraged. The kneading part alone, however, is harmless. It comforts the cat. It's not exactly an expression of love...choosing your lap as a place to nap is the true expression of love. ,,,^..^,,,

in case you haven't any longer have been given any success with clipping their nails, it relatively is what I do with my cats with claws, then you will could desire to declaw them. Cats can't be knowledgeable to maintain their claws in, they only certainly dig their claws into issues, which contain your legs, palms, shoulders, and so on. to assist with stability, and so on. What approximately clipping their nails did no longer artwork? to maintain their nails from getting sharp, you will could desire to clip them each 10 days to 2 weeks. it extremely is relatively no longer stressful to do, and can be performed very straight away in case you have somebody carry her. do only no longer clip down into the purple of the nail, thats the place the blood grant is and could harm the cat and make it bleed.

They're kneading you. It's called kneading because the motion they make with their paws...it looks like they're making bread. It's something cats do when they're content to soothe themselves. You'll probably notice they're purring and look as if they're going into a trance while kneading.....all signs of a happy, content kitty:)

And it starts during kittenhood....while they're nursing.

They are "Happy Pawing" and if you're lucky, you will have a cat who doesn't use his claws and likes to give backrubs!!!

They are retracting their claws, it's what they do when they relax. They (your cat) doesn't mean to hurt you. Your cat loves you. :)

Traction. Although it could be that they are indoor cats and don't have the ability to wear them down. That would help .

Actually, it comes from the "kneading reflex". It comes from when they're kittens: kneading helps kittens get milk from their mother.

Luckily, flying lessons can break cats of this habit.

They are comfortable and happy, they are treating you like their mother, they push their paws against the mother's teats to get more milk out.

They love you and they are trying to make a nest...or this is what they do with their mother when they are young to get closer. ☺
