I once worked with a guy who had 2 dogs called Alex and Charlotte, everyone thought he was talking about his kids! Should a line of distinction be drawn between people's and pets' names?

I have a fourteen month old Irish Setter and am now getting her s sister - my dog is called Lucy and her mum is expecting a litter again in the next few weeks.

I need a name that is nice but does not rhyme with Lucy or end in 'ie' or 'y' as Lucy will get confused and think that it is her that I am calling and vice versa.

Please can you give me any ideas?

Why is it that some dogs who are rescued could have multiple stab wounds a split open head, an ear and a leg ripped off, and the animal police have enough heart to save the poor thing and the dog recovers from it well and is rehomed. Yet, there are cases where a dog has a few pieces of skin torn off, or a few wounds which aren't nearly as bad as a ripped off leg or split open skull, and they're put to sleep? Personally, I think that the people who "rescue" these dogs care, but they don't care /enough/. And I can't believe the story I read about some dogs being put to sleep just b/c they were timid. I'm like, WTF?! That's bullsh!t. I've seen on Animal Planet, and dog who appeared to be dead. He was frozen stiff, yet still alive. There was no way in Hell he could survive, right? They put the dog on and IV and watched him and within a few weeks, he was adopted into a new home and doing fine. I mean, if they can do that, why do they kill dogs who would have a very good chance of surviving?

i have a little can thing of yoplait yogurt, called lite, with fruit mixed in, i think strawberries and blue berries. its labled fat free, the Berries 'n Cream kind, i think the back label of ingredients has aspartine, i was wondering if it was safe to give it to them, the rats, and also, what about hamsters, dwarf russian hamsters. will the aspartine or other ingreadients hurt my rats? will it hurt my hamsters? i dont want to overload them on it, just as a treat, like walking on to my hand.

We have a long arm/clawed shrimp at work (freshwater) who is carrying eggs. They are bright orange, and I'm not positive on the species identification. I was hoping someone could let me know how to properly raise them from larvae to shrimp. Any help is great. Should I start them on rotifers?
