I have a fourteen month old Irish Setter and am now getting her s sister - my dog is called Lucy and her mum is expecting a litter again in the next few weeks.

I need a name that is nice but does not rhyme with Lucy or end in 'ie' or 'y' as Lucy will get confused and think that it is her that I am calling and vice versa.

Please can you give me any ideas?

Grace. Or, someone brought up Sage the other day somewhere on Yahoo! Answers. Something single syllable with an "A" sound. The dogs will never confuse that with Lucy.

Ruby is what I named my irish setter I had many years ago-a good name for a red dog but I know it ends in a "Y". How about Amber or Sasha?

Our old neighbours had a red setter called Bruce which was a lovely dog.

Brandy

(We named our Irish Setter Brandy. She was the best dog
ever. I won't tell you the sad story of her demise, but we
loved her dearly for years. It's a great Setter name!!!)
