I once worked with a guy who had 2 dogs called Alex and Charlotte, everyone thought he was talking about his kids! Should a line of distinction be drawn between people's and pets' names?

Todger.
Was the name of a neighbour's cat many years ago now. Sounded really funny when my neighbour went to the back door and shouted "TODGER!!!??? Come on Todger! Where are you?"
Got some funny looks from the people in the park behind the gardens!
And I don't think anybody ever got the cat's name confused with a person.
Although I can only guess that some people must have thought she was talking about her man's doodah. Hehe

There should be no distinction. People often mock me because I have animals named Lucy Alice and Mike. It's just how I look at them.
The weirdest name I ever heard were a matching pair of cats:
Mrs. Ginger Wakefield and Mr. Scott Hemingway.
Crazy-*** neighbor! You had to use to full names or get a talking-to!

I like it when pets have peoples names...the most unusual name from someone I know is Peesh...he is a small dog and his name means small penis....by the way he is owned by an older couple too. The coolest name I have heard for a cat was an orange tabby named Agent Orange.

My cat, who is named Blue, has just had 2 little boys. My 4 year old daughter has named one Pablo and the other Austin. We had a kitten before called Scragglepuss, as he always looked a mess. I think Human names are fine for cats. I also have Kai and Molly, and they both suit their names.

My friend had a Lovebird named Kitty. And my cats are named Zig and Zag. As far as drawing a line between peoples names and pets names, how could you do it? i've seen some pretty strange human names. You can't tell a difference much anymore.

A person should not be restricted when naming their pets. To alot of people, thier pets are their children! Anyway the weirdest / neatest name for an animal~~~ My cousin named his dog D-O-G. Say the individual letters ~~like you are spelling the word. It sounds cool.

Our cat was called Tiss Puss and her kitten that we kept was Sooty Pussie Foot. The rabbit was Houdini, (for obvious reasons), one dog called Shamrock and bruiser of a dog, (bull terrier cross) called Boxer. Chuckles the hen, Corky the crow...We named them what their character seemed to suggest. But unless it was really suitable I don't think we'd choose a human name. Saying that though, a friend has named her daughter after our present dog, Leiba, based on the german word for love.

Pete the cat - can you imagine calling that cat in? your neighbours would think that your uncle was doing something odd in the garden or something!
In Germany nearly everyone calls their cat "mieschke", which means "kitty" how boring and annoying is that!?! i lived there for 6 months and all 3 cats i encountered all had the same name.
