Pets - 4 September 2006

I have an adult pitbull and I have had him since birth. He has always been sooooo sweet until recently. Whenever I go to pet him now or just love on him, he growls at me, shows his teeth, his eyes get dialated and his hair on his back stands up. He has had all of his shots and has NEVER been mistreated in any way! He is very spoiled in fact! I have 3 kids and he also growls at just 1 of my kids....I keep him locked up since this....is he "turning" on us and if he is why??? I don't want to get rid of him because most likely animal control will have to put him down. I also don't want to wait until he "attacks" one of us....advise???

I have a baby boa.had it 3 months.last week I put in more heat lamps.I thought the cool side of my 55 gal tank was to cool (75) . as soon as i put the heat lamps in the boa went in the water bowl and stayed there for 4 days.the heat on the cool end was now (80) and the warm end was (87) the snake ended up shedding.I thought this is why she soaked in the water all that time.after she shed the next morning she was in the water soaking again.I took out the all the heat lamp on the cooler end of the tank.temp is now 75 and she still hanging out in the water.she eats every 4 days a frozzen weaning mouse.she looks real healthy.I dont know why she still hangs out in the water ?can any one help me? John

If in the wild a tortoise hibenates from the same year it is hatched, then why do people think that when they purchase one a s a pet. That they will not need to hibenate...or at least not for the first few years!!!

....however he keeps dragging it round his stable and pooing on it! need a large tub to put his hay in that is sturdy enough not to keep getting dragged round his stable. I have tried hay racks, bags, etc but these are not easy from him to eat from (his front teeth are loose so he can't eat from a haynet). I wanted a wall mounted manger/trough but the only ones i can find are either too small as they are for feed/water only, or they are too expensive; the haybar is approx £60 and i don't think he would like putting his head in one anyway! Any ideas where i can get something large and strong enough????

she got into a fight and she got cut...it doesnt look deep but its long and its worrying me altho she isnt at all bothered by it...she isnt bleeding and didnt bleed at all when it happened...if u look at the cut its like in the opening u can see another layer of skin thats red and slimy, but i dont kno if thats bad or what...i called the only vet opened right now and told them but all they could tell me was to clean it and watch her cus they dont deal with rats..she is bruxing and runnig around playing on my lap...doesnt act like she is in pain or that its btohering her at all....it just looks really bad and i thought i would ask..if anyone could help me i would appercaite it...

i was gone and my boyfriend and his sister thought they would groom my little poodle he is 3 months old and they accidently got to close under his tail and he is hurting tremedisly and i went to take him to the vet and they were closed all of them because of the holiday and it brakes my heart cuz there is nothing i can do but but treat it with triple antibiotic is this the best choice?
