I need a shampoo for my 8 weeks old pups. What should I be looking for. They are house dogs but do go outside to play and they are dirty doggies.

The answer is very simple and you answered it yourself.

You need to get a shampoo for dogs from a pet store...a puppy shampoo. Look for the ages on the bottle and get one for your dog.
Just remember to rince the dog wery well then dry with a towel.

The methodI always use is Shampo, Rince, Shampo, Rince, Rince then Dry very will with a towel and if that towel gets wet use another one that is dry.

buy a special puppy one from a pet store, but you should only bath your dog when it is really neccessary, as it destroys their natural oils which keep their coat shiny and smooth. brushing them every day will keep their coat nice, and if you have a decent grooming brush, you can pretty much brush mud and dirt off!

I have had my labrador puppy since the begginning of June, and we have only bathed him twice with shampoo, and other times we just hose him down and rub him WITHOUT shampoo.

DO NOT use human shampoo it is very bad for them

A shampoo especially formulated for puppies is just fine, but you can also use a hypo allergenic baby shampoo. (Johnson and Johnson No Tears is fine) Do not use hot water, but only tepid or slightly warm. Be sure to rinse well.

Shampoo specifically for Puppies (tearless). Also, they may scratch -- so a good Oatmeal shampoo is always soothing. Don't use a human blow dryer (to hot even on low) -- use one for dogs available at PetSmart.

u can buy special shampoo for dogs. ask a vet or a petshop.

or, you may also use any kind of shampoo, provided that it is mild enough for the puppies (much like baby shampoos). :)

--sometimes, i also bathe my puppy with a shampoo for humans but i see to it that it is diluted with water.

your vet will advice you with the best in the market where you live .. but if you cannot get in touch with him/her then in any supermarket you'll see the brands that are gentle for pets and good to turn away fleas!! there are such shampoos
