he doesn't drink much, and if we put a bit of milk in his water he licks the bowl dry, but we're not sure if its good for him!

If it doesn't give him diarrhea,then,yes let him have it.I've always given my dogs milk,they love it and it's a good source of protein and calcium.Yogurt is really good for dogs,too

Most dogs are happy with water. If you want to give him milk as a treat then you can either buy dog/puppy milk or goats milk. Not cows milk though as this can cause an upset tummy

VERY BAD!! Dogs are lactose intolerant, meaning they can't digest dairy products. Giving your puppy milk is a great way to make sure he/she gets diarreah!
Encouraging him to drink water is great. If he's eating dry dog food he'll need more fluid. If he's eating wet food, or if you're feeding him BARF (biologically appropriate raw food) he'll need less.

Dogs/puppies can't digest milk like humans can. It will upset their tummy and intestines. I wouldn't give your puppy milk. Water is best!

just a little bit of anything wont hurt, if you give a dog a bite of chocolate they won't die, its if you give them like 3 pounds, and why would anyone eat 3 lbs of anything?

while they can drink it, it is commonly known to cause diarrhea in dogs, so i wouldnt if i were you...unless you havent noticed any effect
