Please don't yell.
All cats & dogs from shelters are most certainly NOT "diseased and flead."
I've always adopted or rescued from a shelter and have never had a problem.

Giving a cat a good home is great, no matter where it came from. I personally have always gotten shelter cats and all but one was healthy, but getting one from a vet is fine, too. All kitties are worth saving. You might have saved a cat from going to a shelter by taking it from the vet; I have done that too.

It is unfortunate that you believe that all cats and dogs at shelters are diseased and full of fleas. It seems that you are more interested in saving yourself $50 than saving a life. You keep mentioning the money.
People keep saying to adopt from a shelter as those animals have a less chance of finding a forever home than the cats at the vets office do.
I work at a shelter and animals are NOT released with Parvo. They are tested and treated BEFORE adoption. They are all vaccinated BEFORE they are adopted. They are usually spayed or neutered BEFORE they are adopted out. Are the kitties at the vet's office fixed already? If not you'll probably have to pay your vet anywhere from $40-$60 to get your kittie fixed. So what are you saving???

I really don`t see why everyone is yelling at you about your personal preferences of where you get a pet from. They keep stating that if the animals in the shelters don`t get homes they end up getting destroyed. What do you think happens to the ones that are at the vets and the ones that you get for free.If nobody takes them they also end up at the shelter and could end up being destroyed as well.I`m sorry but my best animals have always been for free.I then take them to my vet to get them checked out wormed and given shots that which I may add does not cost me anywhere near $70.There is no way that these shelters should be charging that amount of money they can get the medicines at a discount price.

I believe you're trying to get a rise out of us, but in case YOU'RE SERIOUS (how do you like to be SHOUTED AT????)
You should have used the half of a brain you have, and reported the shelter.
Get your kittens where ever you want, just don't post it for the whole world to see, and then argue with people who realize you're an idiot. Oh, sorry, YOU'RE AN IDIOT.
Oh, I am sure people are not saying "Get kitty from shelter." Most people know elementary level grammar. So you go ahead and "get kitty from vet" and on the way, stop and take an english class.

My kitty was from the shelter. We had her for ten years before she died. She never had fleas. Depends on the shelter u get them from I suppose. If the shelter is up to code all their animals will be immunized (meaning disease free) and be clean. If you vet has cats to adopt then that works too! Goodluck with the kitty hunt.

My dog came from a shelter - I had her for 13 years before she died. My cat came from a shelter and I've had her for 12 years (she is 15 years old). I did get a purebred Persian from a friend, but the purebred died at only 9 of kidney failure. Rescued animals are the best!!

NO they are not! I got my Zues from a shelter and he was flea free and disease free, and completely adorable. Most dogs die from Parvo because someone ( a very malicious someone) usually brings a dog in that has parvo and they don't catch it in time.
And I know when I got Zues from the shelter it cost 65 dollars because of his shots.
Get a cat from an animal shelter. They need love too.

i do not see why this can be no longer attainable. basically say that you had some judgements to make, and that you had to weigh the professionals and cons of having the kitten, and that you determined that you want to have the kitten back. the surely way that you'll not be in a position to get the kitten back, is that if it were followed with the help of yet another kin. lower than are some techniques that could be in a position that could actually help you with searching after your kitten. a million) For the scratch submit, placed some cat nip on the scratching submit. The cats and kittens will bypass loopy over this, and that way they're going to spend more desirable time on the scratch submit truly of on the furniture. also, get some toys and dangle them from the scratch submit, and let them play with it. 2) For the couches and different furniture, connect tin foil to them. The cats do unlike this on their claws, and could no longer tear the foil aside. 3) As for the peeing area, you may convey him to a puppy counsellor, and they're going to specially artwork with your kitten or cats on some behaviorial issues. even as it appears like the kitten is in a position to pee, position the kitten contained in the clutter container, and carry it there for a short while, and word if it is going. If it is going, then supply something to reward it. After sufficient time, even as it truly is going to develop right into a discovered means he will cease doing it. i wish that this allows you.

Find a better shelter. I got a 5 week old kitten from a shelter in order to save a little kitten,s life and she is perfectly happy and healthy almost two years later.
