I actually kept seventeen land hermit crabs in two terrariums. I think it was cool that they were rather gentle and seemed to like attention and handling...a couple of them actually liked to walk up my arms and rest on my shirt. Land hermit crabs are a challenge to keep successfully, and many of mine died after a year or two of keeping them, even with the care I gave them.

We also have hermit crabs and have had them for almost 16 years now. They are pretty unique. We have 50 of them.

whilst i became into youthful we lived in a rural section, all of the friends' pets had a lot of room to roam approximately. Our friends had a golden lab, according to possibility purely a twelve months or 2 old, and we had an old 5-lb calico cat. at some point the friends canines walked by our back backyard, approximately 20 ft from our back door; as quickly as he observed that little cat in the window, he unexpectedly have been given a startled look.... and ran living house!

When I about 12 years old I found a den of bob cats. I lived in south Texas and they are common there. The kittens were about five weeks old. I took one home and it grew into a beautiful adult. My family didn't approve of the wild animal being around so I donated it to the San Antonio Zoo. I visited it one or twice before I moved away.

I worked for someone that was liscensed to own a bob cat. It was cool, but mean. Of course, it is a wild animal...blah blah blah. I can't imagine owning anything that exotic. It is a lot of work and is dangerous.

Anyway, I guess the strangest I got was my collection of betas. I had 15 of them at one time. I couldn't stand seeing them in those tiny little bowls at the pet store.

I had pet rats. At one time I had 6 of them, 4 boys and 2 girls. I also had 3 cats at the time. The boy rats had free run of the house and they got along with all of my cats. The rats would come when called and only go potty in their cage. People would freak out when they came over because they didn't understand they were PET rats, not sewer rats! I loved them!

I had a spider living under my desk, and I considered it a pet. If I set down a glass and the condensation pooled on the desk, he'd come out to get a drink, then go back into hiding. He even came out to explore my new computer one day. I don't know what kind he was, one of those roving hunter types.

When I was younger, I once saw a guy walking on the Atlantic City Boardwalk with a skunk on a leash. I thought it was the coolest thing I ever saw.

People thought it was weird when I kept a black widow and some tarantulas as pets? A buddy of mine used to keep these big maggots and praying mantis as pets.

My boyfriend once had a pet Racoon. His kids used to take it to school with them on a leash, and it would wait outside for them all day!
