do you think I should feed him? or see if he can survive on his own...

Two days ago my dog was poisoned, I took her to the vet immediately as i noticed that she was getting weaker and weaker, meanign she couldn't walk down the stairs anymore and she refused to urinate, she was just lying there. so i took her to the vet, who diagnosed with the poisoning. she gave my dog two injections, one two relief her muscles and one to make her sleep. She said it would last for only 8 hours and my dog would be fine. But she's been lying on the couch since then. I tried putting her on the floor so she could walk but it turned out she couldn't move her back legs. I went to the vet again, who suggested to give her glucose every 3 hours, she said the in jections last longer in weaker dogs and the glucose would giver her strength. However, she also mentioned that this may not be due the medication but to the poison itself. I'm really worried right now. What should I do? Should i just swith to another vet? Is my dog going to be ok? Please help.

My girlfriend wants to get a new kitten after we move into our new place in two weeks. She thinks that we should get the new kitten ASAP (like within two weeks) of moving in, so that our current cat (who is a one and a half) will not feel as dominant in the space.

I'm worried that a new place, me moving in with my girlfriend, and a new kitten might be too much for my cat. I don't want to overwhelm her. But my gf thinks that is the perfect time to get a kitten. I'm not super worried, but she doesn't have me convinced.

Thoughts? I'm particularly interested in people who've had experiance with introducing new cats to older cats or who've worked in the vet/shelter/pet psych field.

Hi - My mother's newfi has been seriously ill since a week after she got spayed. The doctors are testing for several serious illnesses but i can't help but wonder if it has to do with the surgery. She has an enlarged esophagous and has a hard time walking and keeping her food down. Any one else have that experience?
thanks

I have 2 oscars in my tank, they been together since litle guys. I know the nature of these fish since i have had several through out the years. Now suddenly it seems that one of the fish fell in love with the airerator tube n bubles, I mean obsessed! It became quite agressive to the other fish. This morning i found the smaller one loged underneath a stump in the bottom of my tank.Still bearly alive but alive. sides of the fish were verry scraped n fins tor up, so close to death that the eyes were turning white. It still had some fight so i dont just call it done. Now 14 hrs later the eyes are cleared up ,seems to be breathing better, but still floating on its side. The other oscar keeps rubbing its side on the sick one and blocks the other fish from getting close. Is this a way to kill the fish off, or is it trying to be of help?Should i let the fish stay in the water to see if it will pull through?Seperate them or what?It still has enough to kick around when bothered. What to do?

I was sold albino frogs as "African Dwarf Frogs", but everything I have read so far is leading me to believe they may be "African Claw Frogs".I was also told by another pet store that they have never seen an albino "Dwarf " frog. Is this true? What is the biggest difference between the two?

He's not been himself for the past day or two. He won't run in his wheel or play like he normally does. In fact, he just sits in the corner, all curled up. If I hold him, he remains lethargic in my hand. When he tries to run in his wheel, he doesn't seem to be able to control his tail very well (it just sort of flops around) and he seems to be limping funny. He had a sneeze/cough for a while (more than a day or two). I changed his bedding and everything, but that still hasn't fully gone away. I'm concerned something may be seriously wrong. Besides taking him to a vet (obviously), any immediate suggestions? I'm really concerned about the little guy.

My roomate just moved out about a week and a half ago with 3 dogs. There are no more animals in my apartment and I still can't get rid of the fleas. I have tried bug bombs a couple of times, flea carpet cleaner, flea carpet and room spray and now borax. What do I do? They are eating me alive!

She had her first heat a year ago and she hasn't had a noticable one since, so I assume she has silent heats, but then how do I know when she IS in heat? I live in the country and there's not alot of male dogs to hang around, so that won't let me know...

I know I'm gonna get a bunch of mean answers telling me not to breed my dog (I've read some other questions) but I'm not trying to make money, I got my rat terrier two years ago and she has such a great personality that everybody in my family wants one of her babies now. I know all about animal shelters too.

My boyfriend has played w/this Rat Terrier for a few days and I just saw him last night. I brought him in and have kept him w/my dogs (they get along great) but he's sick. He has liquid coming out of his eye, a scab w/green stuff coming out of it and a green puss coming out of his "wee-wee". An antibiotic would take care of this right? But which one? I can't afford to take him to the vet but I want him to be healthy so I can find another home for him.

My black lab is only 2. shes mostly indoors now that its blazing hot. she has heat spots that wont grow back with hair. and especially her scar spot from getting fixed along with her whole stomach grows very fine hair so that you can see her skin underneath. we just got her maybe a month ago and shes been the greatest but shes been like this ever since. by the way shes completely clean of ticks, parasites, etc.
