Hi - My mother's newfi has been seriously ill since a week after she got spayed. The doctors are testing for several serious illnesses but i can't help but wonder if it has to do with the surgery. She has an enlarged esophagous and has a hard time walking and keeping her food down. Any one else have that experience?
thanks

My dog had such complications after being put under to have his ear treated...I believe he never recovered from the anesthesia. The vet would not agree, but then, why would they accept the fault?
I would certainly take her to another vet, so you can get the truth of what might have happened, and the proper treatment.

Ask for copies of ALL tests that have been done and get a second opinion ASAP. The stress of surgery can bring out a disease like Addison's disease (hard time walking and keeping food down).

I hope you get an answer soon. Good luck!

It could have something to do with the surgery, but I have seen a lot of illnesses and diseases that seemed to be triggered by just having surgery. There is a chance she had an underlying condition to begin with. Hopefully they can get to the bottom of it!!!

They may have hurt her with the breathing tube. Maybe you should check with another vet. It usually only take 2 or 3 days to get over a spay..

SOUNDS LIKE THE ANESTHESIOLOGIST INJURED YOUR DOG. GET A SECOND OPINION.
