Female dogs dont go into heat as...well...pronounced as cats do. Usually, it comes on just out of no where, much like humans. You'll know shes in heat when red dots appear on the floor (yes, female doggies get periods) and some females "nest"; they'll go through their toys/towels/etc and arrange them around or something of that nature. They dont get moody or anything, and heat usually lasts about 2 weeks, and depending on the breed once every 6 months to a year, sometimes as long as a year and a half. Hope this helps!

First of all, they bleed all over the place, and if you have male dogs that are not fixed, she will try to entice them.Trust me I know? I speak from experience!

THEY WILL ACT LOVING AND AFFECTIONATE THE FIRST WEEK LOVING TO BE PETTED. THE SECOND WEEK THEY DRIP BLOOD AND THE PRIVETS SWELL. THE THIRD WEEK BLEEDING STOPS AND SWELLING SUBSIDES. CAN GET PREGNANT AFTER BLOOD SHOWS UNTIL FEMALE REFUSES TO MATE.
