Vacuum.
Vacuum everything, everywhere, everyday for two weeks.
Seriously.
My brother is allergic to fleas AND most flea control methods. The only thing we could do is vacuum. So vacuum we did. Constantly. Summers at my house meant vacuum noise, not the pleasant splish splash of happy children getting wet, no, we had to save my brother's life by vacuuming.
Baby fleas arrive on the scene every few days so you have to constantly re-treat your house. Flea eggs are nearly indestructible. That is probably why the products you tried didn't work, new ones took the place of the dead ones in a matter of days. That, and the fact that we have been using these chemicals for years and the fleas are no longer susceptible to most of them. However, they all are susceptible to a vacuuming.
Have I mentioned you gotta vacuum?
Pay close attention to the areas under furniture and beds, also base boards are a favorite hiding spot for the particularly bold flea. The type of flea that doesn't need upholstery and carpet for cover. You need to vacuum hard floors as well. Remember the bold fleas. They are dare devils those fleas.
Don't take my word for it, I only spent about 12 summers fighting the good fight so that the blood sucking, allergy causing invaders didn't kill my helpless little brother. (apparently he grew out of the allergy, cause he doesn't react anymore.)
Good Luck and Happy Hunting!!

I had a catand with cat came a multitude fo fleas... we couldn't even walk into the living room without being eaten alive. nothing helped.. we used flea sprays, powders, and vacumed til we were blu in the face. Finally a friend suggested this stuff called Sevendust (no not the band) we put down a layer of it and left it overnight then vacumed the next day....the fleas were gone and never came back You can get seven dust at any hardware store and I think the garden section of Walmart just ask the clerk about sevendust insect/ flea killer

My mother in law lives on a farm, and deals with fleas in the most simple way, and the few times ive had a flea problem ive used her method and it works like a charm. Get say... a empty pie plate, or even a paper plate. Put some soapy water in it and a light above it. They'll jump in and instantly drown. Just be sure not to catch fire to anything!! I know this seems dumb, but my mother in laws farm is always flea-less during high season thanks to this method.
( btw it doesnt need much soap, i make the soapy water in a jug first and then pour it, and yes any soap will do just fine! )

I have had the same problem it only gets worse! Do a search on Yahoo for the chemical Precor 2000 I paid Orkin 400.00 for this! Then I found it online for 2 cans its only 31.00 that includes shipping! It works- it will take time to get rid of them spray this stuff and vacuum everyday- if you have a bag vacuum throw the bag away after every vacuum because they can live in a vacuum bag-

Once we moved into a place infested with fleas. The only way we finally found to kill them was to rent a rug doctor and clean the carpets with a mixture of water and GREEN alcohol. The GREEN kind was what worked. Good Luck!

keep trying every week until they are gone. Most commercial flea killers only target specific parts of the flea life cycle those that aren't at that spot/age aren't affected. Also you are noticing them more now since the dogs are gone and thus you are now there preferred snack food.
