My nans next door neighbour says she made
her new dog starve until he would eat the
cheapest dog food she could get and he wouldnt
eat it at first but now she says they are both happy.
I think its cruel but nan says its dog training and

Is it cruel to keep animals confined in cages / habitats in a Zoo?

Would we like it if we were taken by aliens and placed in a zoo for other members of their specis to stare at?

Or maybe the breading and maintaining of specis is enough justification for this?

We have consulted our pet store about our bald python. We put a small white mouse in his cage with him, but he won't eat it. We take it out and wait and put it back it: We have also tried a stunned mouse. I have read everything on this topic, but many of the alternatives (frozen mouse, use a gerbil) don't appeal to us. Any suggestions?

I live on the east coast of North Carolina and I really like English Bulldogs and have been considering getting on but I heard that they do not do well in the heat. It gets pretty warm where I live and I travel to mud races every month and some friends bring thier duchhounds where the temperature are about 98 or warmer and they do fine. I was just wondering if English Bulldogs can handle this kind of weather. also if anyone knows of anyone near the North Carolina east coast that has any for sale let me know.

During a month 5 fish died and I still don't know the reason. I haven't put them all together in the(tropical) tank at once.. I added 4-5 fish every 2 weeks and had about 24. I fed them just once the day and heater&filter work well.. what the hell is wrong with the stupid fish..
I watched 2 of them dying in a weird way.. they sank to the ground of the tank upside down and couldn't swim properly.. till they died.

She is a cockatiel, about 15 years old. She's done this before, and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason why or when. She will go all night without any droppings, and then when I'm at work, she'll "hold it" for the entire 8 hours. It's to the point that I have to go home on my lunch break to get her out so it won't be as hard for her to pass droppings once I come home in the evening. She'll have regular, normal droppings when she's outside of her cage - every 15 minutes or so, just like she's supposed to. She did this a year or so ago, and went back to normal on her own, but it greatly concerns me when she's in one of her phases. In the past, she got to where she would hold it so long, she had trouble passing a dropping, and I had to massage her stomach to "help." I keep her cage clean, and she always has fresh food and water. The fact that it's totally random makes me think it's mental. Anyone had an experience with this? Any knowledgable suggestions would be appreciated.

me and my boyfriend was watching a animal programme and was debating on wether a crocodile/aligator could survive in a zoo in the United Kingdom? could they withstand the weather?? i said that they could, but my boyfriend seems to think that the weather is unsuitable for them and that there isn't any croc's/ali's in the UK? WHO'S RIGHT?
