Your Q doesn't make any sense to me. How about explaining what you mean?

I'm not sure just what you are asking. but, if you are trying to get a lost dog back, you can produce proof enough that it is yours by having a witness that knew the dog when it was at your home, or photos, or vet records, etc.

If the current guardian has put vet expense into your dog, you owe that. But, even if they paid for the dog, it would be considered the same as buying stolen goods, and must be returned to rightful owner.

small claims court may be your recourse, as local police often consider this a civil matter. However, if, when the dog was missing, you ran ads or contacted the police, it can expedite the return to you, and police will often settle it if you can show the ads.

You will have to check state laws. If a person finds a dog & has it over a month & has advertised it in the paper. It is there dog, they can give it away if they wish. You might ask to speak with the person who has dog & explain your situation. If you moved & left dog behind & it was rescued then placed you don't need a dog.

The lost dog must have a tag...otherwise will be considered as strays & will be put to 'SLEEP'!
