No.. there is no such thing as a long-haired rottweiler.. UNLESS it is the puppy of a rottweiler and a collie mix... or something like that..

Yes, but along with the all black rottweiler and the all tan or rust colored rottweiler, these deviations are not to the breed standard. Which means you can't show your dog.

Very long curly hair, white markings, all black, or all rust, show up occasionally in some lines. So, don't use one of these dogs in a breeding program.

Not thoroughbred rots. There are any number of variations to be had from interbreeding but why for goodness sake look for long hair on a dog like a rottie? Whilst they appear strong and invincible they do not have the best breathing ability in the canine world. Give them a long coat and increase their body temperature and you will almost certainly cause the dog distress and it could well lead to a whole host of medical problems.

Yes, this is a recessive that shows up in many breeds, including rottwielers, german shepherds, beagles, basset hounds, corgis and many others. I even saw a long-haired Chesapeake Bay retriever once.

I have a long-haired basset hound, her parents are both big-winning show champions, her pedigree is impeccable.

Long-hairs will occasionally show up in even the best bred litters, but since it is not to standard it is unethical to deliberately breed for the trait. Stay away from anyone advertising them as "rare" or charging extra for what is considered a serious fault.

there is a ressesive (considered undesirable) in many breeds that causes extra long coat. I belive Rottie are on that has it so yes there could be purebred longhair rotties. I seem to recall this is not a huge collie like coat just more than usual.

Not a pure breed.....it may have something else in the bloodline somewhere.....the German Rotts do have a very dense coat but it is not long
