me and my boyfriend was watching a animal programme and was debating on wether a crocodile/aligator could survive in a zoo in the United Kingdom? could they withstand the weather?? i said that they could, but my boyfriend seems to think that the weather is unsuitable for them and that there isn't any croc's/ali's in the UK? WHO'S RIGHT?

a crocodile or alligator is just like any reptile they need the correct enviroment to live in the winters are too cold for these animals in over here, but put in the correct tank with the correct lighting and heat these animals can be in uk zoo. (only).

croc& alligators are reptiles and are cold blooded(they cannot maintain a fixed body temp). They can survive provided the temperature does not go to freezing. They prefer warm tropics, but have been raised in captivity in zoos across the world

Crocs and alligators can survive anywhere....especially in the UK where there are numerous Cats, Dogs, Rabbits and rodents...even the odd human....they are millions of years old and could survive in places where we would perish in minutes...but remember, when their jaws snap shut on you as you make that fatal mistake of being too close....it's nothing personal, they are just always hungry
