In what species and even breeds do you see an overpopulation problem. How do you see this problem, it is improving or getting worse?

She mated on April 25th (I think it takes 12 days for the egg to implant). She stopped her heat cycles and gained a lot of weight. About 2 weeks ago, I even saw that milk could be expressed from her nipples. But she is supposedly due any day now and nothing has really changed. She hasn't gotten that much bigger and even seemed to have a heat spell about a week ago. Her behavior is a bit skittish but not nearly as unusual as it was a few weeks ago. Also, the outside of her vagina has been coated w/ a gross, sticky brown substance for about 2 weeks. Is any/all of this normal? Could the babies be dead? Also, what should I do if she does not give birth this week?

When your pet bird sees you reading the newspaper, does he wonder why you're just sitting there, staring at carpeting?

I have been looking for a Landseer ECT for about 6 months and all of the breeders that I can find are in Germany, Belgium, Finland, and Switzerland. I am not prepared to leave the country to find the perfect dog for my growing family. I am wondering if anyone knows of a Landseer ECT breeder in the USA? As of right now the AKC does not recognize the Landseer ECT as a breed of its own, they call it a variation to the Newfoundland which it is not, it is a breed of its own. HELP!

Should we put the IAMS people, & the PETA people, to the test by putting them in the dog cages, & test on them, like they do the dogs, that suffer so, from all the cruelty they do to the dogs???????. I say YES!!!!!!!!!!

cats pissing in gardens killing plants and yowling all night. Dogs crapping and barking. The only sound an animal should make in cities is "sizzle" as it fries in the pan

I'm adopting a chihuahua soon and I go to school for 6-7 hours/day. I don't want her to be crammed up in a crate for that long (She will be out with me the rest of the time and likely sleep in my bed). So I figured I would get a baby playard/playpen type thing and put her food and water bowls, a bed/blanket, and her litter pan or puppy pads in it. Would that be okay? Hopefully she would also not mind going potty outside the rest of the time, but if she will only go there, I'll let her use the puppy pads/litter box exclusively.

Also, would you recommend litter training or puppy pads? If litter training, what litter? I've heard the dog litter that they sell at PetSmart is uncomfortable for tiny dogs, but I've heard cat litter can be toxic....

Help!

I recently pruchased a thoroughbred mare who has her winter coat, but it doesn't feel or look very good. She has a fat tummy (and is regularly wormed), so it's not a case of not enough food- I was wondering if there were any supplements that I could be adding to her feed to help her coat look better. She is currently on grass, oaten hay, lucern chaff, oats, pony pellets (coolmax). Any suggestions ??
