Cats AND dogs: not very many.
Cats OR dogs: millions, if not billions.
It is interesting that cats and dogs have such completely different personality traits, and completely different relationships to their human companions, that we can't even agree on the word "owners" for the humans. People own dogs, but cats own people.
I prefer dogs myself.

We like all animals, but our preference is dogs. We have 3 and they have all come from some type of strange accidents and have been abused.
One was hit and now has a total hip and pins in her back legs. They said she'd never run or jump....she does both.
One is allergic to everything including dirt ---she is on antihistimines for that twice a day and was litterally starved as a pup...she's great now, just a little snotty at times.
The other is our gentle giant until someone or thing makes her mad and the Sharpee in her comes out and her temper cannot be controlled. She was ran over.
I'd have more if I could...city says no...

I like both cats and dogs, so I have 5 cats, and i feed many straay dogs, coz i cant keep in my house as i live upstairs and the dogs **** everywhere.

No cats, just dogs, Dogs seems to understand what we want them to do, and they can be trained much better than a cat.

I like all the animals but as a pet I prefer dogs.

I like them both. Dogs you cant leave them home alone for more than a day, so you have to be home more often.
