I am looking for a Landseer European Continental Type Breeder in the USA?

I have been looking for a Landseer ECT for about 6 months and all of the breeders that I can find are in Germany, Belgium, Finland, and Switzerland. I am not prepared to leave the country to find the perfect dog for my growing family. I am wondering if anyone knows of a Landseer ECT breeder in the USA? As of right now the AKC does not recognize the Landseer ECT as a breed of its own, they call it a variation to the Newfoundland which it is not, it is a breed of its own. HELP!

I think you already know more about the breed and where to get one than everyone on Yahoo combined. I've never heard of them - only Landseer Newfs. www.akc.org only lists them as a color variety in Newfs.

Solid Colors--Blacks, Browns, and Grays may appear as solid colors or solid colors with white at any, some, or all, of the following locations: chin, chest, toes, and tip of tail. Any amount of white found at these locations is typical and is not penalized. Also typical are a tinge of bronze on a black or gray coat and lighter furnishings on a brown or gray coat.

Landseer--White base coat with black markings. Typically, the head is solid black, or black with white on the muzzle, with or without a blaze. There is a separate black saddle and black on the rump extending onto a white tail.

Markings, on either Solid Colors or Landseers, might deviate considerably from those described and should be penalized only to the extent of the deviation. Clear white or white with minimal ticking is preferred.
Beauty of markings should be considered only when comparing dogs of otherwise comparable quality and never at the expense of type, structure and soundness.

try this site.....http://home.concepts.nl/~pbremer/. It is a Newfy site but it gives info on Landseers & ECT's. They arent Newfys your right but a lot of times they are linked to them & the best place to look is w/ the Newfys or w/ the people assiciated w em...GOOD LUCK!! =D
