I've got a lot of links to wildlife carers from a lot of countries on my site, at
http://au.geocities.com/leaswebsite/links under "Wildlife Assistance" - just click on them all, click on your country and state, have a browse, 'phone them and ask their advice.
Very very best of luck.

If the baby bird is still alive, it's a miracle. try putting it back in the nest if you can, because the mother WILL take care of it. That is just a myth. I know b/c my friend is in the conservation. If not, feed it LITTLE pieces of earthworms every 30 min. If you can't do this, call the conservation unit and they will come and get it.

I managed to save and release into the wild a baby blackie, it depends on how old it is though.
If it is a very young chick, it almost certainly won't survive.
If it can eat on its' own, try giving it hard-boiled egg, leave some snails nearby and scatter breadcrumbs around it.
Try to touch it as little as possible, as the mother may still find it, and if she does, this is the best thing that can happen.
Good luck!

No it doesnt eat seeds.
i know what kind of bird it is, it is a Starling
yahoo or google search Starling Central or Starling Talk
They will have the recipe of what to feed it.
If you want you can keep the baby as a pet.
Starlings make great pets and MOST LEARN TO TALK not kidding.

are you sure the parents are not caring for it? When the fledge they do stay on the ground for some time until they can fly better, and the parents feed it there. Is it fully feathered? If not...then it probably did fall out of the nest and you can return it to the nest if you can find it.

Baby birds only eat regurgitated food from parents. Call a vet.
