I really want to teach my 7 month old kitten tricks. How can I?

i tought my cat to sit down and give me his paw for a treat. sit down is the easiest part, just say in a clear voice: 'SIT *catsname*' and push gently on his/her bum, right after that give him/her a treat. Repeat every day still he/she gets the gesture, that won't take too long if you use a treat he/she really likes :) to teach him to give his/her paw: choose a paw that he/she has to give to you, and say in a clear tone: 'PAW *catsname*', and gently take his right/left paw, and give him/her a treat. Repeat frequently and you'll have a very cool cat like mine :)

With lots of patience. Try tossing something that the cat likes (mine likes the really long twist ties that come on toys, rolled into a spiral spring) and see if the cat can catch with its front paws and bring it back to you in its mouth. The cat definitely will have to want to do this, so its more a matter of playing than training.

My cats generally like to teach me tricks. Like open the door I want out, or pet me right here...

I had a cat a long time ago that learned how to answer the phone. The cat I have now runs to the door when I get home, and comes when I call his name, much like a dog would. Just keep showing them what you want them to learn, and reward them when they get it right. Warning, if a cat doesn't "feel like it" they won't do it no matter what you do. :)

Start with easy ones, make sure when your cat does something good or that you want him to do that you give him a treat. When he does not say "No" with a loud and clear "N"
Try teaching him to pick things up with his paws or to give you his paw first. Or even to stand on his back legs only.

i taught mine to jump through hoops from bar stool to bar stoll like lions at the circus. pretty cool
