She's considered old because indoor cats generally live from 12-18 years of age. Many may live to be in their early 20s. The oldest reported cat was 28 years old at the time of death.

It's simple. You first get the average life span of a cat...that I dunno, you should do some research on it. But let's say a cat lives for as long as 20 years (just an example), and humans' average life span is 80, you just compare in ratio:
x cat years = 16 human years
_________ _____________
80 yrs 20 yrs
so:
x = 16 times 80
_________
20 years
x = 64 years
Yep, she's old for a cat (that is, if given a cat can only live up to 20 human years, so you find out how long a cat lives) :p

Cats average out to live 25 - 30 human years. Very long time. No idea how old your cat is in cat years.

She is old. My mom has a cat who is 18, and mine is 13. They are both showing considerable changes of aging, as I'm sure yours is, also. I have known of some cats reaching into their 20's, but to have a cat as old as yours is quite good. Most indoor cats live to be between 13 and 20 years old. Continue to take good care of her, and you may even see her hit 25!

Yes, old...around 70, I would say.
I had a cat that lived to 20, and the oldest cat ever was 36.

well since cats only have a average lifespan of 16-20 years then yes a 16 year old cat is old.

I hear it is 7 cat years for every human year. She is getting up there. Make sure she is eating a softer senior food. Never table food. My cat lived to well over 25 years. Keep her healthy and she will be with you quite a few years.
