i got up this morning and three of my electrical outlets are not working, one is outside and the other two are indoors, i am guessing they are on the same circuit cause thet are close to each other, but there is no breaker flipped...we do have a big inflatable snowman in our yard with an extension cord run to it and when i went to see why the snowman wasn't working the plug in to where it plugs in to the extension cord was under water, we had a big rain last night, could this be the problem? what happened? but like i said before no breakers are flipped

I was thinking of getting a forced air heater for working in the garage. Between propane and kerosene heaters I was wondering if anyone would know which one would be cheaper to use fuel wise and which would be safer carbon monoxide wise. I know they both give off CO and it needs to be vented but I thought I heard somewhere that kerosene burns cleaner. I appreciate any input.

I need to replace a plug on a lamp. I bought a Cooper (?) snap on replacement plug, but it didn't come with any instructions. There does not appear to be any terminal screws, nor does it appear to open up in anyway. There IS a small metal tab, that I think is important, but I don't know what I am supposed to do with it. Also, do I remove any of the wiring's casing before I slide it into the plug?

My friend just bought a used side by side. The bottom half of the freezer freezes, but the top half of it is at 30-40 degrees F.
Same with the fridge part, lower half is good while the top is around 50 degrees F. Thanks in advance.

I have a Craftsman 1/2 HP garage door opener.. Recently, it stopped working. When pushing the button, it sounds like it trying to open, but it doesn't do anything. After that, it starts making a clicking noise and blinking, 10 times, I believe.

The garage door has no sensors, it never has, and we've had it for many years.

Does anybody know what could be wrong with it? How to fix it? Anything?

Thanks!

Using no chemicals - could he still be fined? We are in the Rancho Bernardo fire zone and we need to do it. Should he buy a permit or what? People who wash there cars and driveways with chemicals get no fines but I have heard we can get fined for powerwashing.

I was vaccuming the house and for some reason I decided to clean the keyboard of my laptop with the vaccum. The vaccum was so strong that it pulled off one of the keys on the keyboard off and the key got sucked inside the vaccum. I freaked out because this wasn't even my labtop. I also, can't get it out because I dont have those vaccum cleaners that most people have but those in house vacumm cleaner that is attached to the house..

questions...
1. Do you think I can get it out?
2. Where is the main source that all the dirt and **** go too?

I want to make sure all outlets in my home have correct polarity, ie don't have reverse polarity. What tester is used and how is it used to determine polarity? Also if you have to reverse the hot and nuetral wires and this results in the hot on the silver connector in the outlet, doesn't this mean the the wires are incorrectly connected at the switch box? Thanks

I have a Air Admittance Valve (AAV) on my soil stack in the loft cavity from my ensuite. A few weeks a go the wastes (toilet, sink, shower) started draining slowly and when i flushed the toilet it drained very slow and then a gurgling sound were coming from the other plug holes.

A friend said that its probably the AAV getting stuck so no air was being let into the soil system. I have just replaced the AAV and the problem is still happening.

Has anyone got any ideas to what else could be wrong?

I have a Lennox whisper heat that is 12 years old. What it does is shut off during a call for heat and not come on until someone manually turns it off and back on via power switch or thermostat. It usually occurs overnight or when everyone is gone to school/work. As a result it gets really cold in my house. It did it again last night and the temp. outside was 13-15 degrees F. It was about 59 degrees F in my house this morning. This has been happening for 2 1/2 weeks now. I have a cold because of this. Can somebody please tell me what is wrong with this piece of crap?

Hi,
I have a gas heat house hot water baseboards. I have a problem where one loop is getting heated at all. This loop goes to the three bedrooms. Someone suggested raising the temperature to about 90 degrees and bleeding the boards to empty the air that could be blocking the water from flowing. I did that a few times and still no help. I think the first try seemed to work because I felt the hot water finally came through. But a day later, I am still having the same problem. I bled the baseboards in all three bedrooms and no change. I actually have the temperature on 90 degrees and the bleeding screws undone and no air or water coming through. Please help.

Thanks

We just put up Xmas lights.
Now none of them work.
I tried plugging in a radio to the outlet and there is no power going to the outlet.
Does anyone know the problem.
I think it might be a circuit breaker.
If it is then how do i check and replace it.
Im not exactly an electrician and im trying not to kill myself.
Any help would be appreciated
