I have a Air Admittance Valve (AAV) on my soil stack in the loft cavity from my ensuite. A few weeks a go the wastes (toilet, sink, shower) started draining slowly and when i flushed the toilet it drained very slow and then a gurgling sound were coming from the other plug holes.

A friend said that its probably the AAV getting stuck so no air was being let into the soil system. I have just replaced the AAV and the problem is still happening.

Has anyone got any ideas to what else could be wrong?

have you checked any manholes ...sounds to me like a blocked drain...could be a blockage in your soil stack pipe

It relies upon on the format. the place is the different bathing room? Is it a flat or appartment format then i'd want an en-suite, yet whilst that's a house then i'd particularly have usable mattress room area over an en-suite.

I think you wasted your money getting a new valve. It all sounds like you have a partial blockage in the drain

I'd look for blockage in the soil stack, unless you are using a macerator in which case I'd start there. Good luck - I'll lend you my rubber gauntlets :-)
