There is a plug or 2 or 3 in your house probably on a GFI breaker the outlet itself has a reset button on it! Push is should click then retest. It is probably on your garage plugs or laundry room. I would push the all I have one in kitchen and bath and mud room anywhere water has a risk have getting into it protects the outlet and is the law just reset it. If this is not the problem it is probably got a bad connection in electric box. A switch is out! Source electricians wife! Hahaha but true! Good Luck!

If something needs replaced, what is it and where would it be located? The oultet may need to be replaced. This may be due to a short. Check the cord on the device(s) that are plugged into the outlets that are not working. If they are burnt they cause a short and may be the cause of the outage. Before handling any of these cords ensure that the breaker that feeds these outlets are switched off. In doubt switch off all the breakers. Additionally check each outlet that is effected in the garage. Check for damage, i.e. black or dark areas at the plug area. If you see any black or dark marking that is the outlet that is damaged. You'll have to replace it, once you have the power off, remove it and check the wiring for damage. More than likely these outlets are GFI and thats the problem. Your question did not state the voltage, all are assuming 110v, hope its not a 220v. If it is call a pro, don't mess with it yourself. Good Luck.

Most garages have a Ground Fault Interupt (GFI) circuit for the outlets. If your GFI tripped, then all outlets would be dead. Usually one of the outlets will have a reset switch or there will be a special Circuit Breaker in the control box for reseting the circuit.

It sounds like the Gfci has gone bad or needs to be reset if the outlets had previously worked. If it is a new out let you probally have the line and load wires reversed on the plug.

Usually the fuse box in the garage has two circuits, one for lights 5 amp and one for power 30 amp, and both have separate trips, check that the power circuit is not tripped

are there any other switches that possibly control your outlets.(use a lamp to test) or outlets have shortened out and need to be replaced. They are pretty easy to replace as long as breakers are off.

One of the outlets has a reset button (red or white). Depress it, it should reset all the outlets
