I am moving out of my apartment that I currently share with my old college roommate and I am moving in with my boyfriend. We are getting a new apartment so it is a blank canvas. I am a very visual person that can get very messy. I would like to keep our home neat and organized. Any ideas?

I want them for inside my house, not out. I have searched in a lot of places but with no luck. I am learning woodworking and would love to try this. I appreciate any help on the matter. Thanks!

Just bought this house and it needs something to not look so plain. What color shutters do you suggest. Does anybody know how i can somehow add colors to it on the comp so i can get an idea? I tried microsoft paint but it blows up the picture to much.http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/paineless4/detail?.dir=9955re2&.dnm=7fd7re2.jpg&.src=ph

i live in an old english farm house and purchased an oak dining table in its raw state. i would like to stain it a lovely nut brown colour which looks like its an original from years gone by, but there are so many products on the market at the mo , i just have no idea where to start, i would like it proper brown, not with a yellow tint or reddish tint, a proper brown colou. has any one out there done similar and if so what products did u use. cheers

The latex paint that was applied over oil base paint (washed prior to painting) was noted to peel when scratched by our dog. You can actually peel off pieces. Can we sand the latex paint and apply oil base paint over the surface again or are we in for some heavy -duty work?

I recently accepted a position as Director of Nursing in a nursing home. I found a vintage bedpan (never been used) on Ebay, and I wanted to incorporate it in the decor of my new office. I don't know what to do with it. Can't use it as a planter because my office doesn't have a window. Any suggestions?

All of the walls in my house are plaster and we would like to replace them with drywall. Instead of knocking out all of the plaster, would it be at all possible to just screw drywall into the studs over the plaster? The plaster walls are all in pretty good contidion - the ceilings in most of the rooms are some kind of fiber tile, except in the bathroom and closets which are plaster (these are badly cracked). Any help and/or suggestions would be appreciated!

I have a small room with popcorn on the ceiling. I was wonder what color i should used to make my room more spacious. I also have birch furniture and want something that will compliment that. I want to paint my entire room even my ceiling, the problem is i have popcorn on my ceiling. Would it look weird if i just painted my walls and left my ceiling white? if so, what other options do i have. Thanks for all ur help. Appreciate any kind of advice

There is so much info on 'replacement' windows where the header already exists. What about if you want to add a brand new window in a room? I don't think it involves a 'load bearing wall' but don't even know if that makes a difference. I don't want to waste my/their time having contractors come to my home if this isn't even possible. Thanks.

Not sure how to set up a bigger playroom..... I work from home, so need the office set-up to be convenient and we rarely have guests, but I think I should keep the queen bed.

The baby's room is very small (10x10) and other room twice as large (10x20)... should I squeeze the bed / desk into the small room and leave the large room for baby / play area as my main goal is to have a large space where the baby can spread out his toys now that he is growing (he is 1 now)

Or do I keep the office on part of the large room and somehow divide the rest for baby (convenient b/c I can work while he plays -- but who wants computer equipment in the baby's room??!!)

We are also planning to have anther baby sometime soon, so I giess if I make the large room just for baby, he will later share with the newborn -- is this a good idea???

This can't be so difficult, but I am having quite a time fitting the many needs (baby playroom, office, guestroom, new baby crib area in future) into two spaces

I've got a room in my house that's done up in a deep maroon color, and I want ghosts to appear on the wall when the blacklight comes on. I heard that white crayon works, but I'm not sure. How well does it show up? Is it invisible over the maroon in regular light?
