I have a large attic that I want to convert into a bedroom. There are no electrical lines that run up to it. I want to place at lease one light switch and three outlets in this room and have installed an attic fan with a thermostat to control the temperature in this room. Is this an expensive job for an electrician or a cheap and simple one? How much should I expect to pay?

I have a very large closet that I want to turn into a bathroom, I can do the toilet and shower and tile installation myself but will need a licenced plumber to do the rough in plumbing. The closet is right next besides an already existent bathroom on the second floor so pipe access and drainage should not be too much of a problem. How much should I expect to get charged by a quality plumber?

This is just for curiousity, and a bit of research for a novel I'm working on. I have a CD-Rom of it, and print-outs of what to put it the room to rearrange it and what not to put. I'm just wondering about expert opinions on it.

I need to repaint a bathroom. The tile is from Italy and it was too expensive to replace. It actually looks like the sky with clouds in it. The rest of the house was repainted in toupe.

Do you know where I can find clear covers (plastic or vinyl) to protect living room furniture? (The kind Marie has on "Everybody Loves Raymond") I've checked hundreds of websites and all I can find are flimsy shapeless things to protect furniture while moving.

Can you paint over wallpaper? The house that we are looking at buying has ugly wallpaper in every room. I'm not a lazy person, but the kitchen, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and recroom all have ugly wallpaper. It would take forever to remove the wallpaper, so if there is any easy way to paint over it without having to remove it, then I am all for that. We all ready have to put all new floors in, all new windows and doors plus a new heating system, that is going to be a lot of work in it self, so being able to paint over the wallpaper would be really beneficial. Has anyone done this and did it turn out for you?

I am thinking of building a new home using a Don Gardner house plan called "The Laurel'. It is shown on the Don Gardner web site as Plan number W-GOO-270. The plans cost hundreds of dollars though and I don't want to spend that money unless I'm sure that this is the right house plan for me. It's hard to get a good idea from looking at drawings on the internet. Does anyone know where I can see real photos of the inside and outside of this house plan? Or better yet, does anyone know where I can see the real thing? I live in coastal North Carolina.

Thank you for your help !

I am replacing the carpet in my living room. I do not want more carpet. I have pets (dogs & cats) so I want something that can stand up to alot of traffic and use, but easy to keep clean and can handle the occasional accident - spills, etc.

My house has an open concept (the living room, dining room, and kitchen is in one big room. I have light peach tile in the entire area. My furniture is dark brown.

What color should I paint the walls, and what color blinds should I look into? I like the wood blinds.

Also, where can I find a cushion for my breakfast nook? It's probably about 4 feet long.

Does anyone have those electric (or gel fueled) fireplaces? The one you can buy from Home Depot. Pros and Cons?
