I shopping for a new bed and keep seeing sheets for a double bed, but no place that sells a double bed. Can someone enlighten me?

Yes, a double bed is the same as a full size.
Here are the dimensions for mattresses:
Twin is 38" wide by 75" long
Extra long twin is 39" wide by 80"
Full (double) is 54" wide by 75" long
Queen is 60" wide by 80" long
King is 76" wide by 80" long
California King is 72" wide by 84" long
Based on cover and quilting, actual size might vary somewhat, hover these are the standards. Sweet dreams

Yes, a double bed and a full size bed are the same. Don't know why they have to make it so confusing.

Yes...full and double are the same...but watch out because I know there is a rare size that is in between...I think it's a full/queen or something to that effect...I ended up with one of these. It is between a double/full and a queen...and no sheets fit that stupid mattress.

Yeah, I had the same problem this week. I bought the sheets that said "double" and they do fit my "full-size" bed, so I guess they are the same thing.

full is the older type..also smaller. Queen is much bigger..sears older stores still sell doubles.
