I have a large attic that I want to convert into a bedroom. There are no electrical lines that run up to it. I want to place at lease one light switch and three outlets in this room and have installed an attic fan with a thermostat to control the temperature in this room. Is this an expensive job for an electrician or a cheap and simple one? How much should I expect to pay?

Cost most depends on where you live. When i lived in Westchester, NY it would run about $1200-$1400, where I live now, Utica, NY, it would be about $650-$900. I think less than $1000 would be about average. It's not very difficult, just bring the wires up through the studs in the wall and connect to outlets and switches, but electricians can be expensive.
