For the living room, We have light lavender curtains, and a dark green couch (multicolored) . I picked out a light grey, what would you recommend?

You say the couch is dark green, multicolored? If one of these multicolored colors is a light green, i would go with that. Otherwise choose one of the lighter shaded colors in the multicolored couch. What color is your carpet or floor? If a light shaded color, you might consider something in that color.

I personally like the colors yellow and purple (lavender) together. Looks great in a floral display and in some quilting I have done. Yellow would also brighten the room.

I, personally, would consider changing the color of the curtains, as well. There is a lovely silvery lavender that Dutch Boy has (I can't remember the name). It would work, but I think it would look better if you had green curtains as well (IMHO).

I would suggest light blue with yellow daffodils.
