I'm attempting to solder copper pipe fitting to the tub shower faucet. (nw installation) I've noticed the new faucet assembly is getting hotter then hell. Is this okay as there are plastic valves and parts in there? If not how else are you supposed to do this portion of the job? The assembly has threaded leads so it has to be soldered to the connections? Help

I will be burying 8 - 14 ga wires for irrigation use. The most constructable option is to use 14ga THHN wire and direct bury it. I know that THHN is fine for placement in conduit underground, since many places use it for traffic signals. I need to know if using this for direct bury is ok? This is in Arizona, so even though it is buried it will get pretty toasty, but this is a low voltage usage (24v).

I am wiring a house for a guy and he says he is going to have a 400amp service. I havn't done residental in a while and am struggling to remember how this goes. You have your meter with one serivice wire coming in, and that will hit one 200amp panel, and will have have a load side and you can jump out with another service to feed the second 200amp? And what it a good AWG for the service.

Also - they make 20amp arc fault breakers right? all I've ever used is 15amp but this guy is using 12AWG / 20 amp for general receps.

I know it's bad but I went to my sister's house overnight and forgot to blow out a candle and it burned for about 24 hours. It was on a high bookcase and I noticed a very large light soot patch on the ceiling afterwards. I made the mistake of using liquid to try and clean it and all it did was spread it around. It's now a huge smeared soot patch. Is there any way to clean it now? Any thing that's not liquid?
